In the wake of the Typhoon Initiative's collapse, a new threat has risen to challenge the city's obsession with Shinogi Chess, a board game variant which has taken hold of countless schools across Japan. With the Spring Championships behind her, Himiko Masaki continues the search for her mother, and will stop at nothing to acquire power in pursuit of this goal. Meanwhile, Yoshino High School has finally recovered from last semester's shocking events.
