Weak mages cast their spells. Forgemages craft them.

The Forgemages are the magic-smiths of the old world. Where other mages recite and pray, they work spells the way a smith works steel. Each rune they carve holds a single law: burn hotter, strike faster, reach farther, never stop. Bind enough runes to one spell and a simple Fireball becomes a storm of flame. The mage academies call it heresy. The horde gives no time for that debate.

THE RUNE FORGE

Every rune faces one direction. Turn it toward a spell and its power flows in. Set runes end to end and the power travels down the chain, gaining strength at every link. The Forge holds six spells, but no law limits the runes you bind to them. Sharpen the damage, widen the blast, shorten the cooldown, split one bolt into many, or make it bounce, pierce and orbit its caster.

BREAK THE LAWS OF MAGIC

30+ spells and 50+ runes wait to be bound together: Meteor, Chain Lightning, Holy Orbitals, Skeleton Army and more. Teach one Fireball to fall as a volley. Feed a Flame Tornado until it fills the hall. Somewhere on the grid is the combination the academies forbade. Find it.

SPOILS OF THE FALLEN

The horde drops gear from Common to Legendary and every piece rolls its own stats. Every fifth stage, a boss guards unique Legendaries with powers of their own. Take a weak piece back to the Forge and reforge the stat that failed you. What you claim stays yours, run after run.
