What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Following the viral success on mobile, we want to bring the game to Steam, but The story of The Baby in Yellow has not finished being told! We plan to add additional chapters to explore more of the world of The Baby and bring the narrative to a satisfying conclusion.

We also want to improve the visual fidelity of the game, provide a number of quality of life features and add many more unique gameplay experiences.

Currently we don't feel the game is fully representative of what the final product will look like on PC and we want to work with the community to improve the experience before we consider the game to be complete.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“12-18 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version we plan to add the last major chapter to the game, bringing the story to it's conclusion and answering questions about the fate of the babysitters and The Baby. This may include new areas, gameplay features and story events similar to the other Acts of the game.

We are also aiming to improve the graphical quality by upgrading to Unreal Engine 5, increasing texture fidelity, overhauling the lighting system and adding more dynamic elements to the world. The current PC version is mainly limited by development in parallel with mobile. We want to raise the bar of the Steam version using our AAA background prior to forming Team Terrible, to make creepier environments, moodier experiences and a scarier baby!

Audio is another aspect we hope to improve on in the full Steam version. We want to overhaul some of the weaker audio moments and add more music/voice-over while keeping the game true to its roots in terms of feel and functionality.

Finally, there are a number of quality of life features that are expected from by PC/Steam community and we want to ensure that The Baby in Yellow meets these expectations. Before the game is considered complete we plan to add achievements, full PC settings, accessibility options, controller support and cloud saving. Further Steam integration (like the workshop) is something we may also consider.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is a series of short stories, each with their own theme and experience. These are told in a Chapter format across several Acts, which the Player will experience through the eyes of different babysitters as they tempt fate, and The Baby's wrath.

Current playable Acts

  • Nights 1-3 - A typical babysitting experience... probably...
  • The White Rabbit - Attempt to flee your babysitting post and save yourself, you coward
  • The Black Cat - Follow the feline and explore to find more about what’s really going on

Each Chapter of the game contains different gameplay for you and The Baby to experience together, secrets to find, lore to uncover and its own unique ending.

The game also contains sandbox elements, optional activities, an unlockable cheats menu and a totally normal baby.

Yes, you can put him in the oven.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We expect the price to increase for the final release in line with the final content.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is incredibly important to us, which we collect in a variety of ways. From watching content creators big and small play through the game, to discussions on social media and our official Discord server.

It is really important to us that we get feedback from the Steam community directly to help us identify features and quality bars that they feel need to be met for a fully fledged PC release.

Some features like sticking food on the baby's face have come directly from our community, so we're always on the look out for cool and creative ideas!

So if you have any feedback, ideas, or just want to say hi, send us an email, post a message on Steam, DM or join our Discord server. We'd love to hear from you :)”
