The Journey of Project SWARM

The core concept of this project dates back to 2015. In 2016-2017, I presented a detailed pitch for this drone-based simulation to several major Polish publishers. They chose a different, corporate path, but I refused to compromise on my vision.

I decided to take the long road as a lone wolf developer—truly independent. Unlike many projects that use the label, this has been a real solitary journey, shaped by my personal experiences and a refusal to cut corners. The road was not without its obstacles. On January 31, 2023, following Project SWARM's participation in Steam Next Fest, I released a teaser officially announcing a 2024 launch. Just months after my announcement, a corporate clone by one of those publishers hastily released a demo to "claim the space" and secure the appearance of being first. This maneuver, combined with the challenge of competing against massive marketing budgets and large teams, stalled my momentum for a time.

However, the vision remained. After years of solitary work, where every line of code reflects the original 2015 idea, I am deeply hopeful that the journey finally culminates with the launch in 2026.

I want to thank you—the players—for your patience and for supporting this project against all odds. This game exists because of a shared passion for true simulation and research, born from the grit of lone wolf development.
