The game Fear of the Dark seeks to immersively explore the fear of darkness (nyctophobia) experienced by many children and adults. The idea is to depict scenarios imagined by those who suffer from this phobia, such as the fear of the unknown, being attacked by a "boogeyman," ghosts, or monsters. To achieve this, the game draws inspiration from horror films and games like Limbo, Inside, and Little Nightmares.

In Fear of the Dark, you follow Bianca, a 6-year-old girl who must explore a haunted house on a journey to rescue her stuffed bunny named Apep. The challenge is that the house is poorly lit, and little Bianca suffers from nyctophobia. She must overcome her fears to save her beloved companion.

Fear of the Dark features 2D action/adventure platform mechanics with a dark aesthetic. Throughout the game, you will explore platforms, discover secret passages, solve puzzles, and face shadow monsters and ghosts using your flashlight.
