Varför Early Access?

“Our ultimate goal is for the game to be free-to-play, but we are an indie... We aren't doing this for money, we just want to make something fun for us and our friends. We now believe the game is ready to be played.

We chose to release under Early Access to help us scale the game as our playerbase grows and we implement new content. We are a very small independent team working in our all our free time, because we are passionate about creating a unique and fun experience and want to share it with as many people as we can. ”

Ungefär hur länge kommer det här spelet att vara i Early Access?

“Roughly a year, but you know... silksong. That's not a dig at Team Cherry, game development is hard. Like ridiculously excruciatingly mind numbingly hard. We are entering our beta stage and will be taking the time to expand the systems we have spun up. ”

Hur är det tänkt att den fullständiga versionen ska skilja sig från versionen i Early Access?

“We plan to iterate on our foundation: items, skills, and specials, but also environmental, platforming, and objectives based expansions. We are aiming to focus on the more creative elements, while improving the network architecture that are paramount to an real-time online experience.

But most importantly, we want to make this free. No barriers of entry, no mandatory pay-to-win mechanics, and no subscription based traps.

All that aside... We're totally gatekeeping the early access, mostly so we can get our ducks in a row. You can buy and play the game, if it breaks we will fix it after family and work and stuff.”

Hur är det nuvarande läget i versionen med Early Access?

“The game is not finished, but players will be able to play a BETA version of the game including:

-3v3 lobby based matchmaking
-PvP combat with multiple upgrades
-platforming and upgrade-able movement mechanics
-a complete map with PvE units and objectives
-a character level up system
-a chatwheel based communication system
-a fully fleshed out day/night cycle


Even though the game is not in it's final form, the foundation is established in the current state allowing players to play through entire matches with other players.”

Kommer spelet att prissättas annorlunda under och efter Early Access?

“Yes. The game will be free to play on release, but Early Access will have a cost to control the playerbase size as we grow and scale. So don't all download this thing, it would mess us up! Like some of you can, but just not all of you...”

Hur planerar ni att involvera gemenskapen i er utvecklingsprocess?

“We aim to be active with the community and focus on implementing features and improvements that they want to see in the game.
