Why Early Access?

“PlanetBlight is a first-person open-world survival shooter in development by a single person.
At this point, I think we have a very rough idea of what the game will be like to play.
I think the biggest disadvantage of solo development is that it's hard to check yourself to see if you're on the right track, so I think having a small team will have a positive impact on development, as will community feedback on direction during development.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our current plan is to keep Early Access open for about a year or two for the minimum amount of content we plan to add.
Depending on player feedback and requests, this may change as we work to complete the game and add more content.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Short-term goals include key facilities and locations to collect and battle as you explore the open world.

In the long term, friendly survivor bases and merchants to trade resources with, and quests that ask players to farm, gather resources, or produce along with a small story.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Log, mine, and hunt and gather animals in the open world.
You can use the wood and resources you collect to build a base.

These bases can be equipped with workbenches and furnaces for production,
Workbenches can be used to produce firearms and important ammunition, and points earned when leveling up your character can be used to unlock firearms or attachments to produce more firearms, apply additional attachments, etc.

You can also set up a crop plot for farming,
This allows for simple farming, growing, harvesting, and consuming your crops.

At the moment, a few facilities have looters roaming around, and you can avoid them or defend yourself to obtain resources and items that can be collected.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We don't have a definitive answer at this time.
However, we will avoid any actions that will result in a lower price for those who purchased the game early, and will offer the game at a lower price during the early access period than the price that will be charged at launch, and will announce it at least a month in advance when it is determined that sufficient development has been completed.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will continue to monitor the Steam Hub to centralize feedback.
Discord is currently under consideration
We'd also like to get feedback on gear that will be used for a long time, such as adding weapons, and on urgent content.”

What kind of game is PlanetBlight

?PlanetBlight is a first-person survival game

To explore and survive, players must gather the remaining resources on the infected planet, investigate buildings and facilities, and craft the equipment they need to survive.
Players must be prepared for danger at all times, and against the threat of marauders, players must build strongholds or craft powerful weapons and armor,
Gun attachments and customizations that can be unlocked using skill points earned as players level up, allowing them to shoot more accurately and reliably in combat.

While exploring the diverse terrain, players will be able to navigate up and down buildings and structures through parkour-like actions such as double-jumping, wall-running, and sliding with the help of assistive devices.

Using the various survival skills, abilities, and equipment provided, players must defend themselves against, or avoid, the people who have been dumped here by the infection and turned into looters.
