About This Game

Story Background

"I've been expecting you for quite some time, Mr. Archivist..."

Thinking back to my childhood, sitting by the armchair, I was as naive as any other kid. I only cared about novelties in front of me and the interesting stories I heard. Whenever I was forced to sit still and listen to the elders ramble endlessly about tales from the past, or when I caught a glimpse of the scenery outside the city... a mere flash of an "anomaly" would send my mind racing and leave my body restless.

Yet now, I can hardly believe that I would one day actually see the scenery outside the city, and truly interact with those tales from the past. It feels as if I’ve personally stepped into those doubtful, seemingly non-existent legends.

Those figures from the past are now standing right in front of me. Some merely swing their blades, leaving trails of phantoms behind them; others simply chant a few words, summoning massive storms out of nowhere... Facing enemies, peril, and battles to the death, their will remains entirely unbroken, as if driven forward by some unknown force...

But why was I willing to come here? Why must I uncover the mysteries and truths hidden behind them?

Perhaps this is just what the job entails... Maybe, in time, my perspective on these bizarre sights will change...

"Mr. Archivist, do you recognize any of them?"

I seemed to have been staring for too long, completely forgetting to issue tactical orders to them.

"No... I mean, maybe... they just look unfamiliar to me..."

Overview

Bansonic is a rhythm game based on traditional multi-lane (up to 5-key) mechanics. Its core features include expanded idol squad formation, light progression (RPG) elements, pre-battle tactical strategy, and a unique 5v1 PvE rhythm combat system.

In the world of Bansonic, you start as a regular corporate clerk who gets transferred to an Idol Archive situated in a distant city. There, you assume a new identity: the "Archivist." Using system technology, you will reconstruct reenactment programs of past idol competitions and battles. By issuing combat directives, you must push the idols' combat prowess to their absolute limits. Afterward, your partner, the Archivist's Secretary Sonia, will evaluate the results of the simulations.

Maximize the true potential of as many idols as possible, understand them to level up your credentials, properly file all idol archives, and personally complete the stories written around the past idol arenas... This is what it means to be the "Archivist," and this is the work you must accomplish here.

5V1 PvE Rhythm Game

Dual Scoring System
The final score consists of a "Performance (Chart) Score + Idol Score." The Performance Score reflects your mechanical skill and rhythm control, while the Idol Score stems from your squad formation and skill synergies. "Accuracy" dictates your absolute ceiling, while "Tactical Build" dictates your flexible potential.

Combat-Driven Rhythm Mechanics
Hitting notes drives character effects such as damage, healing, and mana regeneration. Enemies will enter the stage in waves. Since they also possess HP and Attack Power, missing a note comes with the penalty of your idols taking damage, creating a combat experience that is both tense and rhythmic.

Character Progression & Skill Slots
Each idol has an independent set of 8 to 14 sub-skills and a unique growth path. Leveling up unlocks more skill slots and more powerful effects. Progression isn't just a simple stat boost; it allows you to construct a more comprehensive tactical system.

Clear Post-Match Analysis
The settlement screen displays hit judgment distribution and score structure, making your areas for improvement crystal clear. You can intuitively see exactly how much "Execution" and "Tactical Build" each contributed to your final result.

Idol Squad Formation

You can assemble a squad of up to five idols, each guarding one of the five note lanes. Different characters can be placed in each position, and the positions themselves will affect synergy relationships, making "Idol Positioning" a core part of your strategy.

Before a stage begins, you can equip different sub-skill combinations for each idol.
Skills revolve around aspects like scoring, mana, HP, and chain triggers, forming completely distinct playstyles.
You can aim for high-burst maximum scores or opt for a steadier, safer rhythm playstyle.

Rest assured, the core of the strategy lies in pre-battle building, not manual intervention during the song. Once the performance begins, you only need to focus on rhythm and accuracy. Maximizing your gains comes from the squad and skill setup you designed beforehand, eliminating the need for distracting on-the-fly adjustments.

During battle, accurate hits drive character scaling and skill triggers. Idols can also form adjacent synergies, allowing buffs to transfer and stack within the squad. The combination of your squad and skills will directly impact the final score, reflecting the true depth of your pre-battle strategy.
