CHAOS IN AISLE SEVEN is a twin-stick top-down shooter where you play as George, a customer who shops for products in a store where salespeople are annoying, greedy and want to scam you for profit. Fight back by SHOUTING your displeasure in this over-the-top parody of shopping!
Filled with humour and parodying over-the-top mundane shopping situations, help George take down the giant Goliath corporation by shouting as loud as possible to anyone in your way. You will shop for electronics, groceries, furnitures, a car and much more!

AN OLD SCHOOL ARCADE GAME


Heavily inspired by the 80s and 90s arcade shooters, CHAOS IN AISLE SEVEN aims to bring the gameplay of modern top-down shooters back to its simpler arcade form.

  • 4 worlds to explore, 24 levels and 6 boss fights inspired by classic arcade shooters from the 80’s and 90’s
  • 5 hours of gameplay for a casual run and up to 15 hours for a completionist
  • Your HP acts as your patience;
  • Your projectiles are literally a shout (“NO!” sprite) and it can be modified by eating various food items, for instance, you eat a garlic bread to leave a trail of poison, or eat a cherry gum to make your shouts explode;
  • Power ups are dropped in the level and time-sensitive just like old school arcade games;
  • You unlock discount coupons that can be used to modify the rules of the game;
  • Earn medals by beating the levels fast, without damage, with a high score or at higher difficulties;
  • Linear difficulty progression
  • An old school world map to select your levels
  • 2-player local coop
  • Additional high score modes with leaderboards
  • Speedrun-mode with an in-game timer and no cutscenes
  • Pixel art graphics
  • A funny (and very real!) story about shopping and consumerism
  • No guns and no physical violence
  • Jokes, jokes and more jokes!

ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT BY A SOLO DEV


This game is still in active development. The production is made by a single developer with the help of a musician for the OST (Zerolag). This is a passion project since I love old school shooters like Smash TV, Robotron, Dodonpachi, Aero Fighters, Metal Slug, etc.
