Why Early Access?

“Escape Space is made by a solo developer - me. I'm putting a lot of efforts in it because I really enjoy the process of making this game and the way it is right now. I believe that the game is in a sufficient shape to get played and enjoyed! However, the feedback from you - the community and the players - is very important for the game to evolve in the best way possible, hence the release in Early Access.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I plan to stay in the Early Access program for a maximum of 6 months. I want to use this time to polish the game, the mechanics of gameplay, and enhance the content - based on players' feedback and my own experiences developing it.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I am hoping to incorporate the following features and improvements:

Polished animations and pixel art
Better lore and story telling
More enemies and more enemies' behaviors/patterns
More variety of levels
More game modes
More content to feed the customization system

This list is obviously not exhaustive!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of the game offers you enough content for tens of hours of gameplay. You can start as a new mercenary and grind your way up to reach the maximum level of 99! This will be possible through multiple free updates during the Early Access program, as more and more content will be published over time: new missions, new enemies etc. Evey patch will bring the maximum level up! During this journey, you'll do tens of story missions and fight thousands of enemies. The game already features 10+ weapons and 10+ mods that you can use to customize your spaceship, and there is an upgrades' tree available to enhance your potential.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No. I think the price is fair right now, and will not change after the Early Access program is over.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I would love to hear about your feedback, ideas and bug reports! The best place for that is my Discord server, with a dedicated forum set to collect them. Or, of course, via Steam directly, through the Steam forums. Feedback are important, and already have been a source of modifications for the game!”

About This Game

You are a mercenary.

You're the owner of a Stingray space fighter. To earn a living, you pilot it and do various missions for/against factions.

The Earth Military Conglomerate.

A militarized Terran faction, advocating order and justice. They strive to impose their rules on the galaxy, and have a vast array of weaponry at their disposal to achieve this.

The Void Outlaws.

A renegade faction living outside the current system. Their members pillage and attack anyone who crosses their path, and make their money running a black market. They generally use unconventional weapons and tactics.

The Quantum Riders.

A discrete faction attracted by technology. They have decided to exile themselves to distant space sectors to conduct their experiments out of sight. They generally have highly advanced units, often equipped with energy weapons.

Customize.

Enhance your spaceship with new weapons and mods: they all have their own pattern and ability. Make your own loadout/build and play the game as you like! You can also pick a color between a decent range of options to better customize your look!

Upgrade your potential.

Collect chipsets on destroyed enemies and use them to unlock new upgrades! Decide on the order you'll get them and plan ahead: they dramatically enhance your capacity to fight against harder waves of enemies!
