« Currently, Journey Express has its essential game mechanics in 2D (traveling mode) and 3D (exploration mode) present and functioning! You're able to create a character with your selection of traits and characteristics, if you will. You can select from a randomized list of parties to bring to their destinations, and then travel across a large map in any way that you choose. As you travel, explore the area around you in 3D, with each biome having its own respective 3D map to roam. You can hunt, fish, and search for points of interest that can later be sold for money and reputation!

In terms of how much of everything there is, this is the current tally of various game components that are in the game so far:

- 14 character traits that impact game mechanics in unique ways
- 18 random events that can occur during travel, each with unique effects and ways to deal with them
- 11 total character backstories and skillsets that determine your character traits
- 5 unique biomes to travel through in 2D, with 5 unique 3D accompanying exploration areas
- 15 total exploration points of interest to find
- 9 map locations
- 6 map discoveries »
