What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Long Live the King, as an indie project, will be released by Act over time. I welcome the Steam community to help make the game the best it can be by enjoying the LLTK experience early, and helping the developer with feedback along the way.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Long Live the King will release, in full, in 2023.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to have a full release game with up to several dozen hours of projected playing time, spanning over 6 Acts in the story, as opposed to the singular act that is currently playable at launch.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“As of August of 2022, Long Live the King is playable through all of Act 1 of the story. This is only the beginning, however. This game will span over a 6 Act story arc.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“During early access, the first supporters of Long Live the King will be able to purchase the game for a discounted price. Price will gradually change as the game comes closer to completion.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The game will release by Act, for each major update. The community will be relied on for feedback on the story, the gameplay, and of course bug and polish fixes.”

Story

When Carter's estranged brother, George, summons an army of monsters to take over the Kingdom, Carter is summoned to defend it. Along the way, Carter must employ the help of new allies and friends to eventually confront his brother. But when push comes to shove, George makes Carter an offer that the player may not be able to refuse.

The unrest in Morida leads to a series of deadly wars with neighboring realms, where Carter must use his skills and limited resources to keep Morida afloat. If the plater is able to find victory as Carter, the glory, and spoils, will be plenty. Riches, new allies, and even a realm of his own to rule may be at stake for carter as he fights for his home.
