Many an ICE have carried special liveries throughout the years, but perhaps none are as striking and landmark as the Railbow ICE 3.

In recent years, a growing and fabulous tradition has been spreading across railway networks throughout Europe; the “trainbow”. Supporting pride, acceptance, and inclusivity, LGBTQIA+ railfans get to be represented by their favourite rail operators. In 2021, Deutsche Bahn joined in the celebration of love and progress by adding the pride flag as a stripe along the whole length of ICE 3 403 022/504, marking the 10th anniversary of Railbow, DB’s staff-led pride initiative.
