What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Alaris is releasing in Early Access to give players the chance to experience what the game currently has to offer, which includes 4 routes, spanning around 30-40 hours of playtime. The current content will give players a chance to enter the world of Alaris, get to know the plot and characters on a deeper level, and provide feedback before the game enters Full Release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Alaris is currently planned to be in EA for roughly six months, with small patch updates along the way to include expanded content/assets.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Full version of Alaris is planned to include all 6 routes, with the final 2 routes being added at Full Release. These routes would cover the "Fae" routes of the game, which would include 10-20 more hours of playtime, more art assets (e.g., CGs, side character sprites, etc.), and voiced lines. The final 2 routes would aim to bring the game's full plot to a close.

Along the way, in smaller patches, we plan to update the game with additional content, such as more voiced lines, refined prose, and more. ”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Alaris already has an expansive amount of content! Here's what you can enjoy as a player in the EA build:

Story
* 240,000 words, spanning across 4 routes, and totaling 30-40 hours of playtime
* 270 choices, to create a different experience during each playthrough
* Customizable personality, where you can decide how you act (and how characters react) throughout the story
* Functional messaging system, where you can send and receive chats, group chats, and more from the cast
* 18 Free Time Dates, where you can choose date locations to take the cast to

Art
* 14 Character Sprites, each hailing from different realms and with different roles to the story
* 38 CGs to discover through various character routes
* 7 Energy Auras to toggle on and off during gameplay, to add an extra touch of magic
* 64 BGs to explore an expansive fantasy world

Extra Features
* Codex system to understand the terms unique to this world
* CG Gallery where players can revisit their favorite CGs from their favorite routes
* Date Replay where players can revisit their favorite dates that they've been on
* Music room, featuring 8 unique tracks from Peter Reid Jones
* Partial voice acting”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“When Alaris enters Full Release, the price will be increased to reflect the game's additional content.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Early Access will give players the chance to provide feedback on the game before it enters Full Release.

Alaris has been in Beta Access prior to entering Early Access, and during that time, we implemented beta testers' feedback, from route edits, accessibility features, and more! We welcome feedback via various social media channels (e.g., Discord, Twitter, Tumblr, etc.) so that we can make community feedback part of our development process.

Your feedback is invaluable to us, so don't hesitate to share your thoughts along the way!”

About This Game

A global crisis that only continues to escalate. A dangerous run-in with a shadowy stranger. And a mysterious word that won't stop gnawing at you. How does everything tie together? And what role could you possibly play in all of this?

Enter a world of magic—of Fae and Dragon.

The Enchanting Prodigy | He/They

"Hmmm... Now there's an interesting question. Maybe if you beg?"

An accomplished Drake with a colorful reputation. Many know his name, but few know his heart. Do you have what it takes to break past their flirty exterior?

The Selfless Martyr | He/Him

"Very funny.... But you shouldn't start something you can't finish."

Strong, protective, and reliable. If you asked the town to describe Druk, these are the three words you'd get.  But everyone, no matter how strong, has a weakness. What's his?

The Shunned Scholar | He/Him

"That's not—It's not for you, it's my job."

The classic librarian: grumpy. And you know what else is classic. Underneath all that grumpiness lies someone a little... less grumpy.

The Burdened Seraph | They/Them

"My arm is here for you should you need it."

The head Wyvern, and a fellow healer just like you. When you meet, there's an instant connection. And yet, for someone who's supposed to be your "partner," Etza seems awfully intent on doing everything themself...

The Shadowed Soldier | He/They

"I do dream of this... Don't you?"

This man seems intent on having you to himself. They lurk in the shadows, haunting the corners of your mind. What could be the reason behind their obsession?

The Haunted Protector | Any/All

"..."

Shrouded in mystery, they seem to want nothing to do with you. And yet, no matter how hard either of you might try to prevent it, you keep running into each other. Why?

  • A Customizable Protagonist: Choose your name, pronouns, and personality

  • Personality: Shape your personality with four different traits (Bravery, Kindness, Wisdom, Charisma) and watch how the world interacts with it.

  • Free Time: Choose from four locations and go on a date of your choosing with any of our love interests.

  • Energy Vision: Tap into one of the MC's special abilities to see the different auras of the cast.

  • Memories: Revisit free time dates and let our love interests woo you as many times as you'd like.
