Response time from this fire department has been slacking recently, so Nitrous Oxide has been installed on the firetruck. Located directly in between two cities, this firehouse is responsible for responding to fire calls at both cities and putting out the fires.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“This game is being released in early access because there are still many cool features that I would love to add to the game, but I just want to get the basic playable game out first. By releasing the game in it's current state, I can receive feedback from people like you so I know what direction I should head in and what features I should prioritize!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I am currently a college student, have a part time job and I am a one man team. Given these circumstances I plan on being early access for at most, the next year. I hope to have this game fully released with most of the features working as intended by January 2024 at the very latest, but it will most likely be sooner.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“There will most likely be lots of additions and reworking of current systems in the fully released version. Without giving away too much, I hope to have at least one completely different playable map, a lot more customization with the vehicle and some other unique game-play features.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“As I am writing the answer to this question, I have one fully playable map (with a nighttime variation) with at least 20 different call types that you can respond to. The firetruck can be upgraded to have a nitro boost that lasts up to 10 seconds, the water tank can hold up to 500 extra gallons and the breaks can be up to 5 times more effective. There is a minimap that has a waypoint system which will show you how to get to the call. There is also a simple tutorial level to show you the basics of how to play.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Since this is my first fully finished video game, I do not plan on increasing the price from where it's at right now. I have been learning more from college as I go along and I now realize a lot of the code that I already wrote can be optimized quite a bit to make everything smoother but I don't think I will be rewriting the code for this game. Instead I will be working on a different, more realistic multiplayer version of this game after I fully release this one.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“By the time you are reading this answer, I will have opened up a discord for my game development company where the community is more than welcome to join. Anyone can message me directly in the discord server with suggestions and ideas they have that they would like to see implemented. I also plan on making some youtube videos on my channel about this game as I release it on steam and I would encourage anyone playing this game to visit any videos I have about this game to leave comments with suggestions.”

About This Game

Quick Overview

Become part of the fire department that protects and serves both Lence City and Arkdale! Your job is to operate the lone fire engine that must respond to fire calls in both cities, which are 6 miles apart. But today is your lucky day because the cities have finally agreed to put together some funds to install Nitrous Oxide on the fire engine! However, with this new addition they now strictly track your response time and you must get to (and put out) the fires within 60 seconds of being dispatched.

Key Features

  • You will be driving a firetruck equipped with Nitrous Oxide which can be activated once every 10 seconds. However, this boost can be upgraded with money earned from successfully completing calls to last up to 10 seconds.
  • There is a water cannon mounted above the mid section of the firetruck which can be controlled by parking the truck and pressing "V", then using the arrow keys to point the cannon and extinguish the fire(s). The water pressure can be increased resulting in more shooting the water further and faster, or pressure can be decreased which would result in less water being shot at a shorter distance.
  • The firetruck contains a 1000 gallon water tank. The tank can currently be upgraded to hold 500 extra gallons and it can be refilled instantly when driving past a fire hydrant.
  • This firetruck is equipped with heavy duty breaks which can be upgraded to be 10% more effective with each upgrade level, up to a maximum of 50% more effective. Trust me, you'll need these upgraded brakes when your boost makes you go from 0-90mph in seconds.
  • You can purchase power ups to help you out when responding to calls! The abilities vary from freezing the timer, adding more time, giving yourself an extra boost or skipping the call entirely!
  • Your final score is made up of how long you lasted, how many calls you completed and the difficulty of each call you had. You can also see your high score and try to beat it every time you start a shift!
