Why Early Access?

“SCP - Containment Breach Reborn is, at its core, a very small team. We're trying our best to develop the game, but will be leaning on the community to "outsource" testing and feedback to the community. We're hoping that it'll give us the leeway to make mistakes, improve, and create something we're all happy with in the end.”

“As long as it takes us to get to a point we're proud of.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Once finished, we plan for the game to contain a minimum of the three original zones, Light, Heavy, and Entrance (not including surface in the count), at the very least the content of the original SCP - Containment Breach but remade from the ground up, VR support, controller support, and more. Our end goal is for it to become a modding sandbox and basis for any future modders looking to experiment with their own takes on the universe, and to provide a fun and engaging framework to do so in. We also have plans for further expansions if we gain enough support, but those are a long way off for now.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of early access is quite small. Our current focus is completing the essentials for an early version of the Light Containment Zone with a few enemies, goals, and general SCPs.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“SCP - Containment Breach Reborn will always be free. If we do ever aim for a larger scope or large amounts of content, we may look to outside sources for fundraising, but we'll never put a price on the core game.”

Introduction

SCP - Containment Breach Reborn is an explanation focused horror game with lite survival elements. You assume the role of a class-d personnel trapped by the SCP Foundation. Lacking weaponry, you must employ stealth, problem solving, and quick thinking to make it out alive. The facility houses an array of deadly and uneartly entites known as SCPs. These entities wield powers ranging from reality-bending abilities, to sheer physical destruction, to minor quirks of nature. The ultimate objective is to escape the facility and reach the surface, facing increasingly seemingly insurmountable challenges for any normal human being, and the ever-present threat of SCPs, and those who wish to silence you. This game is a brand new ground-up reimagining of the classic game "SCP - Containment Breach" released in 2012 by Regalis.

Story

Set in 1998, the Foundation is under more strain than ever. Unable to hold up against the constant attacks from a splinter group, the experimental Modular Site Project has been fast-tracked. This site picked for it? 19, a remote research complex primarily dedicated to the study and organisation of SCP data and analityics. The number of specimins being shipped in and the amount of staff displacement are too much, however, and on the morning of the 17th of May, 1998, all hell breaks loose.

Gameplay

SCP - Containment Breach Reborn unfolds within the SCP Foundation facility, currently only featuring a single zone. Your goal is to reach the exit and escape the facility alive, whilst getting past any barriers you may face along the way.

Gameplay mechanics encompass exploration, puzzle-solving, and stealth. Players interact with various objects and structures within the facility, including buttons, gates, and keycards, in order to progress through each zone. Players can also pick up and inspect various items for clues and facility-related information. Inventory management has been refined, featuring a reduced number of slots and a dedicated documents slot or clipboard for efficient organization.

Primary Mechanics

SCP - Containment Breach Reborn is a horror exploration game. The player must navigate through the various zones of the SCP Foundation facility, using a variety of tools and mechanics to survive and achieve their ultimate goal of escape. The following mechanics will be included in the game:

  • Inventory Management: You will have a limited inventory space, with slots dedicated to documents and utility items.
