What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Legacy is being released in early access for everyone who enjoys the genre of survival and exploration and would enjoy playing the game as it grows and takes shape. Early access also allows us as a studio to interact with the player base and get feedback about game characteristics and what players would like to see.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Version 1.0 is expected to be available between the end of 2022 and the middle of 2023 based on our projected roadmap of progress. This assumption is very broad and not permanent because we want the project to continue to be dynamic with ideas and technology available. In a way just like many other great games, updates will continue to bring more areas, technology, buildings, bosses, weapons, armor, foods, professions, etc..”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Eventually we plan to include fantasy races like elves, orcs and trolls, numerous animals that can be hunted and/or tamed, architectural advances and technology progression. Early access will give the player access to every step of progress instead of having to wait for a lot of it to be developed. Such things like the tech tree will be modified as new items are released, new boss fights and gameplay mechanics. Much of our decision making process and next phase planning will be affected by the feedback from early access players.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently we have basic movement and attack, we have a small amount of food items, buildings, trees and a rough planned map. There are a lot of developer shortcut keys to help debug, test and experiment with ideas. Many of the basic mechanisms are in the game at different levels of completion.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Legacy will increase in price as development continues. Early access will be cheaper than the pre-release product and pre-release will be cheaper than version 1.0. Updates will never increase the cost of the game after version 1.0 is released, however we also plan to have certain DLC packs that will appeal to specific genres. Currently early access will be 25% and prerelease will be 50% of the final price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We really look forward to seeing what the community thinks and wants from a title like this. We are making a game that we'd enjoy playing and we know that there are a lot of great ideas out there that we haven't even thought of yet. We are eagerly anticipating the feedback we get from the community and we plan on growing our community and involving it as much as we possibly can.”

About This Game

Legacy is a single player fantasy RPG. Inspired by games like Fable, Stronghold, Sims 4 and Civilization, Legacy puts you in the middle of the kingdom you are building. You will need to gather resources, build a great many different structures and research new technologies if your kingdom is to prosper. You cannot control other NPCs, however you can assign them jobs and give them orders and dress them however you want. You play the leader of a tribe and if they should die before naming an heir you can select an NPC to play.

A year in game is about four hours of play time (subject to change) so you have plenty of time to develop your characters. As your legacy continues, you pass on traits through your genealogy and through training. In Legacy you live as the king or queen in your kingdom. You make the rules and you always have the final say. Exploration, city building, character development, combat and diplomacy how you play is how you build your legacy. In time as your kingdom grows you will discover fascinating places in your land. You can train your troops, outfit them it the best gear you have and set out for adventure with dreams of great spoils and better gear. Losing people in battle however, can have devastating consequences. A good soldier might take days to condition and train. Similar to other RPGs you need to make or loot better and better gear to take on bigger bosses. Some bosses require you to have help. So you will need to gear out your citizens and build an army. Although multiplayer is intended down the road, early on you'll be building raiding parties to lead into battle. This game is being made available in the pre-alpha stage for you who like the medieval city building genre so you can enjoy the game as it progresses at a lower price than the finished version. [img][/img] As the game develops past the initial release of version 1.0, updates will bring more expansions to the Legacy universe. The overall idea is to have a game where you start with a few people in the stone age and advance them all the way into a futuristic space age. Along with free updates we also plan to release DLC packs that offer different styles and types of objects that will appeal to different genres
