Waarom vroegtijdige toegang?

'TAXINAUT is an ambitious project for a single developer: it has a huge open galaxy and many little mechanics and moving parts. The game is playable (its main story can be completed) but I want to make the general game-play like running regular taxi fares a lot more interesting.'

Hoelang blijft dit spel ongeveer in vroegtijdige toegang?

'I've basically designed the game so I (and possibly others) can keep expanding it and create more content for it. However I want to create a version 1.0 that I feel marks a certain basic standard. I'm guessing that in itself will take more than a year.'

Hoe gaat de volledige versie verschillen van de versie met vroegtijdige toegang?

'The full version aims to provide more:

More story-lines that lead you to certain items and places.
More interesting passengers by having some have their own story-lines.
More difficulties (e.g. aggressive ships) in certain zones and especially in space.

Wat is de huidige staat van de versie met vroegtijdige toegang?

'TAXINAUT has been worked on for 6 years. It is playable, has a full tutorial and story that can be completed. Just running fares is quite exciting for a while but it all needs to be expanded and have more interest. Obtaining certain items is just a matter of having a lot of luck at the moment and this in particular needs work. It also probably needs a good bit of balancing things like prices and difficulty etc.'

Zal het spel anders geprijsd worden tijdens en na vroegtijdige toegang?

'The full version will be more expensive.'

Hoe zijn jullie van plan de community te betrekken bij het ontwikkelproces?

'There's no "plan" here other than that I'm open to any comments, suggestions etc. (You can use the Steam-forum or the mosgrom discord, etc.). Depending on how much of this I get, I might not always be responsive because it's only me and I'm simply busy trying to improve TAXINAUT.

I'de like to mention here that TAXINAUT is fully moddable (you have to know or be willing to learn Java and there are no tools). I can't make any commitment on documenting this and/or making it easier but it is there fully functional (the base game itself uses it extensively).

Also, if you're interested in donating art-work (like NPC portraits) or even music then let me know. It will have to fit with my "vision" of TAXINAUT to ship with the game.'

TAXINAUT is an open-world space-taxi sim / RPG in which you play a war veteran searching for a missing friend in the underbelly of a far away galaxy while trying to make ends meet as a taxi pilot.

Explore an open galaxy as a lonely TAXINAUT carrying fares across alien worlds. Descent onto planets and fly over alien cities and landscapes. Land at bars, diners, garages and many other common and exotic locations. Interact with the locals to ask for directions or learn about the many esoteric and sinister aspects of the Kyprei-41 galaxy. Experience a variety of items and effects like food, equipment, weapons, damages, repairs, injuries, diseases, cures, mental states, permits, memberships, etc.

Your search for "Birdie" will take you into a dark world of exploitation and cloning, and maybe give some insight into the nature of VUDU (the galaxy's currency, energy and life-force), cycling (the act of dying and being reborn) and the Nexus (an ancient network of places where VUDU can be stored and people are reborn).

Improve your clone by using "Gongs". Buy different ships and add mods to them. Rent or buy a home and find sources for items so you can buy them at your home.

As a taxi driver in TAXINAUT you explore the underbelly of a sci-fi fantasy world. Things like: sexual exploitation, slavery, drug & alcohol abuse, organ-trade, violent crime and depravity are kind of the subject of the game. You should expect occasional descriptions, interactions and images of a violent, sexual, and/or mildly disturbing nature including drug-abuse, self-harm and sexual assault. They are always short, not detailed and in an unrealistic, often comical, fantasy comic-book-like style and setting.
