Varför Early Access?

“I want to gain feedback from the community on how to vastly improve the game and reach its full potential. I am a solo developer unfortunately and therefore I can only see things from a limited perspective. Video game design and development is my passion and it would be super awesome to get ideas and input from the community on features that could potentially be implemented in the future which could bring my game fully to life! I have so many ideas on my own but I bet some of you talented people out there have even better ones.”

Ungefär hur länge kommer det här spelet att vara i Early Access?

“Until I feel the game is ready and fully polished! I intend to work on it at least 4-5 years after initial early access release. I am in it for the long haul. I do not want to repeat my past mistake of releasing my games too early before they reach their true potential.”

Hur är det tänkt att den fullständiga versionen ska skilja sig från versionen i Early Access?

“I plan on releasing a snippet of one of the chapters for the initial release of the Early Access Version. More chapters will unlock as development progresses until official release. I am doing this to get people familiar with the story and gameplay and hopefully build a fanbase to help out for future additions and features, which I plan on adding during the course of development.”

Hur är det nuvarande läget i versionen med Early Access?

“The Early Access version has most of the gameplay mechanics completed. A lot of the AI is in its early stages and needs to be polished and programmed a lot more intelligently. There is still a lot of work to be done but it is in a very playable state. I am excited to see how far this game can develop over time!”

Kommer spelet att prissättas annorlunda under och efter Early Access?

“The Early Access version will be priced a lot less than the final version(because a lot less content will be available during initial Early Access release). I plan to gradually raise the price as new content is added to the Early Access version.”

Hur planerar ni att involvera gemenskapen i er utvecklingsprocess?

“I plan on starting a blog on my development progress over the course of the many years I will be working on this game. I will be sure to attach a link in the future! For now, you all can comment on the videos in my youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCS-dP6NW8bfxZ2pA6awbhpQ) or in the Community Hub on Steam. I hope people will actively critique my progress and also chime in on things they would like to see! Sophonce is partly inspired by three favorite games/franchises of mine, F.E.A.R., Halo and Half-Life, and I hope a lot of the fans from Half-Life, F.E.A.R. and Halo will come across this game and inherently feel what I am trying to achieve with Sophonce!”

Story Plot


In the beginning of the year 2222, a revolutionary technological device proved the existence of a soul which solidified proof of a higher power. The year is now 2973. The vast majority of humanity has been tank bred over past centuries by artificial means due to a highly contagious otherworldly virus which permanently altered reproductive genomes and therefore effectively sterilizing most of humanity. A dire consequence to this artificial breeding is that those who are tank-bred are soulless. You are Matthew, one of the soulless, an experimental tank bred super soldier part of the royal regime task force division. You are sent on your lonesome to investigate a distress signal from a research facility located in Poseidon, a water rich planet found in "The Black-Eye Galaxy". Luna, who is the Royal Protector of Mars, and her team were sent days prior to investigate but communication with them has been lost. This is where your adventure begins.
