About This Game

PERSONAL NOTE FROM THE DEVELOPER

Hello and thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to read this. In order to NOT waste your time, please read below to set expectations accordingly for this game:

PLEASE NOTE: AEGIS Kingdoms was made for the AEGIS Community.
It is predominantly a game that was made to facilitate community PvP events, and has kinda just snowballed from there.

Although it is steadily growing in features, at it's heart is still a small community of folk who just enjoy hanging out together.

This is NOT a typical commercial game, instead we're a community. :)

ABOUT THE AEGIS COMMUNITY

AEGIS is a small, reasonably well-behaved corner of the internet where grown-up humans gather to play games, watch films, and occasionally question why our Discord bot has suddenly become passive aggressive (again).

It’s run by our resident indie game developer and several unindicted co-conspirators.

We have our own little MMO, built from scratch and still mostly working. We made it ourselves, which seemed like a good idea at the time.

Despite everything, AEGIS functions. (Sometimes quite well!)

Our Corner of the Multiverse™ (read: community) has a few things to do.

• Weekly Gaming Nights – Currently Friday nights, around 19:00 UK.

• VR Movie Nights – A chance to unwind and chill. PC Desktop & VR compatible.

• Custom Discord Bot – Built in-house. May develop sentience. Feature requests welcome.

• Community Events – Hosted inside our own game 'AEGIS Kingdoms'. Nothing catches fire anymore.

• TTRPG Sessions – Fantasy worlds. Real snacks. Homemade with love, duct tape & Hotdog Josh.

• VR Hangout Space – Closest thing to hanging out in person. Supports PC Desktop.

CURRENT DEVELOPMENT FOCUS

The current focus at the moment are the community events being hosted. These are one-off events that allow the continued testing of the game, and an opportunity to provide feedback. 

Once in a good place, it'll transition to Open Weekends where you can play during the weekends. If successful, it'll go into beta testing (demand pending) may open full time access.

STORY PREMISE

The Realm of Men: Sor'res, has been scorched by the murder of King Arthur at the hands of his best friend Lancelot: the Dark Knight. Usurping the Pendragon Throne which rightfully belongs to Arthur's young son Percival, Constantine, Arthur's half brother, has waged a 25 year war forcefully amalgamating the human kingdoms into his Grand Empire.

Fuelled by Dark Aether granted to him by a maelific force, Constantine has set his sights on the forgotten continent of Ophelia, rumoured to have an artifact so powerful that it prevents the evil force he serves from leave her infernal dimension. Guided by a clandestine cult who worships this maelific force, Constantine seeks to find the artifact so he can release his master from her prison and usher in an age of darkness.

Having mobilised the Grand Imperial Navy, many of the waters have been blockaded, especially near Ophelia. The Navy have been instructed to hunt any and every vessel that dared to sail on the sea, with limited trade routes allowed for the independent Souther Kingdoms.

You awaken on the shore of a distant island, ship wrecked from your encounter with an Imperial Man of Warship. You adventure starts here, what will your destiny be? Will you join the Grand Empire, or fight against it?

GAME FEATURES

AEGIS Kingdoms features five main factions that make up it's gameplay. As you progress content with each faction, you'll gain faction reputation and unlock a variety of awesome stuff.

The Relic Hunters

As a Relic Hunter, you'll be on the frontline of discovery, delving into ancient ruins and uncovering relics from the past to aid New Camelot and the Grand Empire's prosperity. But beware, these places often harbour hidden dangers.

The Adventurer's Guild

If you're an explorer at heart, then the Adventurer's Guild needs you! Set foot where no one has before, plant your flag atop Sor'res' tallest peaks, and fill in the blank spots on the map of this new continent.

The Mercenary Legion

While New Camelot is a beacon of safety, the lands beyond its walls are teeming with unknown perils. As a member of the Mercenary Legion, you'll be paid handsomely for your bravery. Whether it's hacking and slashing through hostile creatures or ensuring the safety of wandering travellers, your sword will be the shield against the chaos of the wilderness.

The Engineer's Society

For the thinkers, inventors, and curious minds, the Engineer's Society offers a realm of endless possibilities. You will analyse the unique flora and fauna, build intriguing contraptions, and unravel the scientific wonders of Sor'res. Your inventions will fuel the growth and prosperity of New Camelot.

The Settler's Union

Finally, the Settler's Union welcomes all builders and craftsmen willing to shape the heart of our civilization. You'll gather resources, craft essential items, learn to farm, and rear animals. Your skills will greatly contribute to the flourishing society of New Camelot.

RPG-inspired progression: Our game features vertical progression for trade craft skills, reminiscent of the old-school RPG games that we all love. (Yes, Woodcutting, Mining, etc!)

Encouragement to explore: Sor'res is a world filled with hidden gems and exciting adventures. We encourage you to explore this vast open world and uncover its many secrets. We’ve spent all this time hiding things, it would be a shame for them not to be found!
