Why Early Access?

“The main reason for early access for Lost Paws is a combination of feedback and to figure out how best to expand the game going forward. While we have plenty of ideas on how to expand the game, we wanted to give priority for what people think would be best and what interests them the most. Early access is a great way to get everyone deep into the world of Lost Paws and provide tons of suggestions and feedback while it is still being expanded.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Lost Paws will be in early access for about a year. It could be longer depending on what the community wants for the game. We want to make sure that as much as possible is in the full version of the game.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is intended to be massively expanded from the present version. The main plans are to ideally add multiplayer to the game, additional NPCs, new regions to explore, other strays to interact with, new crafting items, and expanded RPG. We would also like to add additional customization features and other stray types.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of the early access version of Lost Paws can be considered a baseline beta. It has a core gameplay loop and much to explore in the world. From a world content perspective about 30% is completed. It is a solid core experience right now, but there is a lot we wanted to add to give players many more tools and options to play the way they want for their stray.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“For the early access release, the game will be at a lower price due to a reduced amount of content being avaliable. After the full release, the price will be slightly higher due to an expected massive increase in content. Of course, plans like these can change. As for during the early access period, there are no plans for price changes of the base price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community will be a big core of how priorities are decided for development and additional features to be added. We plan on listening to people on the steam forums and on our discord. We intend to release regular updates to the game and have announcements to regularly update the community on the road map and the status of development. Everyone is encouraged to provide suggestions and ideas as well as any bugs they find so that Lost Paws can be the best it possibly can.”
