Hometown Hero was built to release in Early Access. This game was designed around adding more content and features as the game and audience grows. It provides a unique opportunity to learn from our players what changes are most important to them before proceeding to fully launch the game in the future. It will be crafted in front of a live audience and we hope to keep development open and invite players contributions along the way. While we don't plan on keeping Hometown Hero in Early Access forever, it does help us collect valuable feedback as we craft new areas to explore, new mischievous monsters to battle, new mysteries to discover, and new ways for the player to improve their character and reputation!”

Given our development roadmap, we expect the game to only be in Early Access for 1 to 2 years. However, as this is our first full scale title this timeframe may change as things progress. We'll keep our audience up to date on the progress as we go.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
When Hometown Hero launches in Early Access, we will offer a solid build of the game that feels like a finished product so far as the features implemented at that time will allow. We have plans to expand the player's hometown, the world surrounding it, the inhabitants and their personalities, and every other aspect we can imagine to create the world we're envisioning. We will continually release new features, creatures, items, quests, and more so that you can become the Hero of your new Hometown!

The final version of the game will consist of a fully-fleshed out world for you to explore with your Hometown at the center and loads of content to make your experience immersive. The goal is to give you a sandbox to live or relive your childhood and the adventures you went on with your friends within safety of your hometown - all with a unique, fantasy/modern aesthetic! Our roadmap will be public throughout the development process.”

The current state of the game is early, but evolving rapidly. The game's essential mechanics are in place, and the world and gameplay loop are being implemented now.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
We believe players are taking a leap of faith when purchasing a game in Early Access. We also understand that they'll be playing through some bugs and providing feedback in order to make the game better. Because of this, we get that our game is a bit of a gamble and that's why we're offering the game at a lower price than the final version. We plan on gradually increasing the price as we ship new content and features.”

Hometown Hero has been developed from the ground up on Twitch where viewers have always given their feedback and input on every aspect of the game. We plan on continuing and expanding on this with Steam throughout Early Access. We hope you'll join us in the development process to shape the game's world into exactly what we all want it to be!”
