What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We're a two-man team with limited resources and boundless passion. Getting the game into your hands gives us feedback on a scale that we wouldn't otherwise get. We've made Violet Valley big enough to sink your teeth into, but there are many more ideas we want to develop.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The current plan is to finish development in 2025. That said, this project will remain in Early Access until we feel that it's truly a complete experience. We are going to rely heavily on player feedback to realize this goal.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“With four maps (two main and two hidden), we consider Violet Valley halfway finished at best. We plan to have several maps added throughout development. All will have distinct environments, enemy types, and objectives. On top of that, we're continuing to update the maps currently available with additional lore content we weren't able to fit in before Early Access release.

Additional content such as functionality and optimizations will rely heavily on community feedback. We're also looking into game localization for several more languages.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game supports up to four players. There are four maps: two "main" maps that are longer and feature different objectives and two hidden maps.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price for this game will slightly increase as we add significant portions of content. That said, we will give potential players a fair amount of warning before making any price adjustments.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community can provide us feedback on Steam Discussions, our website, our Discord server, or one of our socials. We plan to host private betas for development builds for those who offer regular feedback.”

About This Game

Tall tales are often rooted in truth. After finding The Tales of Violet Valley book at your local library, you discover that the stories within are based on real events. You feel compelled to learn more. You do your research, you narrow down where the town is, and gather up your friends. It's time to explore.

Your group will explore different areas of the town. Each location hosts its own enemies and objectives while telling a small piece of a bigger story: what happened in Violet Valley?

  • Multiplayer: Tackle each location with up to 4 players. Solo play is supported, but teamwork is essential for the horror ahead.

  • Locations: Start your journey with a set of locations patrolled by Robbie. Each of these areas features different objectives, enemies, and pacing. Some areas encourage running for it, while others require a sneakier approach. Hidden locations follow a different set of rules...

  • Objectives: Objectives are designed to get you further into a location.

  • Items: You're equipped with nothing but a flashlight and a couple of items you can use to distract Robbie. Lead him away from you and to your friend (we won't tell).
