'The game is currently at a stage where it is playable in a similar fashion to how the original game was. We are entering into a period of early access so that we can refine the experience and make it more accessible to modern PC Gaming audiences. For us to be able to succeed in doing this we will require feedback from the Steam community during a period of Early Access period.'

Over dit spel

The missions undertaken by the crews of B-17 bombers during World War II are the stuff of legend. What was it like to fly through relentless anti-aircraft fire over Nazi-occupied Europe? What was it like to have a thin layer of steel between life and death at 15,000 feet? How did it feel to furiously fend off enemy fighters zipping around your plane and then to precisely deliver your payload over enemy targets?

Find out for yourself as you lead a 10-man crew to victory... or defeat... against squadrons of Nazi warplanes in the legendary B-17 Flying Fortress!

Redux

The same experience remastered with the original engine upgraded to support the functionality present in DX 12. Working on the redux will give us the opportunity to look back and learn in order to push forward with future Flying Fortress titles.

An Early Access From the Inside Out

During the early access release the game will continue to be updated.

Currently you can look forward to seeing:

  • Updated B-17 Interiors
  • New Crew Models
  • Updated Interfaces, no more comic sans in the interface
  • Music in menus
  • Updated Front end menus
  • Updated Airfield interiors
  • Aspect Ratio upgrade from 4:3 to 16:9
  • In progress Terrain enhancements, including being able to see further into the distance making the navigator's job a little easier
  • Improvements to the original Mighty 8th engine that have resulted in smoother frame rates and better performance on modern machines

We are focused on continuing to improve the game as time goes on. The planned improvements include:

  • Updated B-17 Exteriors
  • Updated Fighter Exteriors
  • Improved player control options
  • New Missions
  • Improvements to training missions and tutorials to better onboard new players
  • A New game manual
  • Larger Aircraft Formations
  • And more
