Built in the 1980s, the BR 628.2, despite being built for rural lines, is first class-equipped and offers open views of the landscape through its large windows and windscreen. Trundle between stations at a leisurely pace before their early 2000s rebuilds and renaming took place.

Sweeten the deal with the Deutsche Bundesbahn’s classic BR 365 diesel shunter, a heavy class derivative of the V60. Used through the Nidder Valley as a mainline locomotive, the BR 365 hauled sugar beet trains from the region onward to Friedberg’s sugar factory.
