SPQR is a mystery thriller drama about a PTSD ridden legionary turned detective, whose cases lead him spiraling deeper into a web of deceit, corruption, and murder when he unmasks a powerful cult with a plan to destroy the republic.

    Explore historical locations:

  • from the crowded Forum Romanum, over the posh villas on the Aventin to the seedy back alleys of the notorious Subura.

    Interrogate contemporary celebrities:

  • of the period such as Cicero, Gaius Julius, Cato and many others.

    Use investigation skills:

  • to charm, intimidate or bribe suspects in your search of truth and interpret what you’ve found to make the each case fit your chosen narrative.

    Be the prosecution:

  • use the facts of the case to make your own truth and charge the suspects you want.



SPQR takes place in Rome between 69 - 40 BC, during the fall of the Republic.
There is no proper jurisdictive system established, justice is dependent on arguments and political power. The decisions of the player affect relations with the different factions in Rome.
The player assumes the role of an ex legionnaire returning home after the battle of Tigranocerta.
Back in Rome, he finds work as a detective for the lawyer and politician Cicero.
In his service he investigates criminal cases and brings them to court.
Over time the player will unveil an overarching conspiracy involving the fabled sibylline books and the lost heir of King Tarquinius Superbus
