Why Early Access?

“We believe that there are currently already an abundance of brilliant side-scrolling action games out there. For a new game like Oblivion Override, we know it’s pretty much impossible to excel in every aspect right from the start. In addition, due to Oblivion Override being a relatively hardcore and challenging game, we are also looking to gather wider player feedback through Early Access for further gameplay optimization. We will continuously refine the game and create more game content, ensuring that Oblivion Override eventually completes development for full release and is recognized by more action game lovers.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The full launch out of Early Access is expected to be in January 2024 and we will continue to adjust our update plans based on everyone's feedback. The main gameplay structure of the game is complete, and we will adjust subsequent development directions according to player input. So this might lead to changes in the duration of Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full release will feature more weapons, enemies, levels, and boss fights to add to the core content. In the meantime, we will continue to optimize the combat impact feedback and control responsiveness, giving players a more satisfying combat experience in the full release.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version release features about 60-70% of the full content. This includes:

3 main levels, each with a different art style;
6+ challenging bosses;
25 distinct weapons;
A New Game Plus system with enhanced enemy units;
A roguelike progression system with flexible build customization;

While we can’t really list out all the gameplay features at once, we can say that the Early Access release already offers a decent amount of content and a complete roguelike experience. Players can expect to get their hands on many of the most exciting elements that Oblivion Override has to offer in Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Price may slightly increase as we ship new content and features. We may moderately raise the price 1-2 times as we expand the content during the Early Access phase and eventually transition to a full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We always welcome and look forward to more players joining the development discussion around Oblivion Override. In fact, we’ve already been working very closely with the community over 3 closed tests to collect feedback and make meaningful changes.
