Why Early Access?

“The game is a large and ambitious project that began development in 2021. We've made significant progress since then, but completing the full experience will take time. By releasing it in Early Access, we're giving players the opportunity to experience the first chapters of the story and the core gameplay mechanics earlier.

Your support during Early Access will not only help fund the development but also provide valuable feedback to refine and enhance the game. We are confident you'll enjoy this initial release and play a key role in shaping the final version.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We anticipate the game will remain in Early Access for about 1-2 years. During this time, we’ll be focusing on adding the remaining content, refining core mechanics, and making improvements based on player feedback. Our goal is to deliver a polished and complete experience, and we’re committed to taking the time necessary to ensure the final version meets both our expectations and those of our players.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version will be regularly updated on a monthly or bi-monthly basis with improvements, so you won’t have to wait until the end of Early Access to experience new content and enhancements. The key difference is that the full version will feature the complete main storyline, fully realized and polished.

Also some of the art will still be placeholder, but in the full release, all placeholder art will be replaced with proper, high-quality artwork.

Even after the full release, the game will continue to receive updates, including additional side quests, further content expansions, balance adjustments, and ongoing improvements to enhance the overall experience.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At present, the game has nearly all of the core mechanics implemented, and the initial island is close to completion, along with several main story quests. There is approximately 10 hours of gameplay available. We consider the current state to be a pre-alpha, and by the time of the Early Access release, it will move into the Alpha stage.

It’s important to note that much of the art is still placeholder, but this will be replaced as development progresses.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the game’s price will gradually increase as new content and features are added throughout the Early Access period. Early adopters will benefit from a lower price, while supporting the ongoing development, as the game continues to grow and improve leading up to the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are committed to keeping the community involved throughout the development process. Every few months, we release a video devblog to showcase the game’s progress and address feedback from the community. Additionally, we have an active Discord server where you can directly reach out, share your thoughts, and discuss the project. Your feedback is invaluable in helping shape the game and creating the best possible experience.”

About This Game

In Notmads you play as a powerful mage who has mastered the art of taming and controlling a massive, walking giant beast. Explore a fantastical open world filled with magic and wonder as you journey on the back of your trusty companion.

As you travel, you can collect resources to build and customize your own home on the beast's back, creating a mobile fortress that you can take with you on your adventures. With a world filled with dangerous creatures, you'll need to use your mastery of magic to defend yourself and survive.

Invite friends to join your journey and share the experience of discovering this magical world together. With an open world designed for players to explore at their own pace, you can take on challenging quests, engage in battles against formidable foes, or simply relax and soak in the breathtaking scenery.

Control the beast!

Command your giant beast with precise control, effortlessly adjusting its speed and direction. Your beast is a unique entity with its own level, stats, gear, and abilities, allowing you to personalize and grow your companion as you explore the world.

Your home is everywhere!

Your beast has a platform on top and that is where your house is built.

Home sweet home

Craft the home of your dreams atop your beast, using a vast selection of building materials and components. Ensure its safety by constructing defensive structures such as turrets.

Watch your back!

Foes will attempt to attack your giant beast, so keep it in motion to stay out of harm's way. However, be aware that some areas are more dangerous, with more frequent attacks. Protect your home by installing automated turrets, powered by the energy generated from your beast's platform, to kill enemies.

Skills

Skills are powerful abilities that you can equip and switch at your discretion. Each skill has unique starting stats that are randomly generated, and they grow stronger as you use them. With limited slots to equip skills, you'll need to strategize when building your skill sets. Changing skills in the heat of battle can be challenging, so choose wisely between offensive, defensive, and passive skills. Some skills are exclusive to your beast, providing even more options for customization.

Alone or with friends!

Join forces with friends to delve into dangerous dungeons, defeat enemies, and protect your giant companion. Experience every aspect of the game together, including the main story, for a truly collaborative and memorable adventure.

Dungeons!

Delve into the depths of dungeons while your giant beast moves at your command, but don't forget to fortify your home-on-the-go with defensive structures like turrets. Use these to your advantage during battles, ensuring that you won't need to abandon the dungeon in the face of enemy attacks.

Loot!

Defeat foes and scavenge for treasure, with items ranging from common to rare. With a wide array of possible discoveries, such as swords, staves, armor, and more, each piece of loot will come with unique stats and rarity levels, adding endless excitement to your quests.

Story mode

While the main campaign will be a feature in the full release of the game, early access will offer a series of introductory missions to get you started. These basic missions will allow you to explore the world and get a feel for the game mechanics.
