「Entering Early Access I hope to engage the community in the development process and get crucial player feedback as soon as possible. Starting with the focus on UI, polishing, balancing, and then moving on to expanding the game, I believe this will help me to fully realize the game's potential.」

「Until the most important major steps are completed, namely the UI migration and balancing with feedback from the community, which is roughly somewhere during 2022.」

「The full version will feature more content and variability in scenario goals and paths to these goals available to the player. Currently there is a single scenario with a single goal available. The prime intent is to have every game start with a different scenario and main goal selected randomly from a predetermined pool. I also want to expand on the base building part of the game, more base improvements are incoming. The evolution tree will be expanded with more viable builds and approaches. More thematic ingame areas are also planned, plus their integration into the gameplay.」

「The single scenario that is available is fully playable, completable, bug-tested, and has the difficulty roughly where I want it to be. You can get a very good feel for the gameplay if you get through the mostly keyboard-based UI with partial mouse support. There are integrated tutorial goals available to guide you through the first important half-hour of the game.」

「The price will be increased when the game gets out of Early Access and there will be gradual price raises with each major addition of new content after that.」

關於此遊戲

Parasite is a roguelike survival horror game about possession set in a modern-day setting. Currently in development, each session is set to be medium length (around 2-3 hours to complete). The game is fully completable to the end but needs GUI work, balancing and polish.

Current features include:
  • A whole generated modern-day city to explore and survive in.
  • A single story scenario that starts with the main protagonist alone, scared, and without any memories in a hostile human world.
  • Sandbox mode that allows you to play at your leisure (or rather, at your peril).
  • Possession mechanics that is crucial to the player's survival (see, you just die very fast without a host).
  • Robust host inventory, skills and knowledge system.
  • Player evolution unlocking new improvements and body features for the possessed hosts.
  • Building and improving habitats to rest and recuperate.
  • Separate difficulty settings for all key parts of the game that will be prompted organically during its course.
  • Event timeline investigation to piece together both what has happened before and what to do next.
  • A dangerous and proactive group of opponents that is tasked with finding and destroying threats to humanity (you).
  • NEW! The ability to have conversations with NPCs resulting in various benefits.

Parasite has been in sporadic development since 2016, with 2022 being the year I decided to devote my full attention to making it release-worthy on Steam. I'm quite proud of the way the game has evolved so far and I believe my original vision will finally be achieved.
