What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We're building this game which is sometimes pretty straightforward and a bit like Fruit Ninja meets Beat Saber meets [insert game about office waste], and other times we are trying to make a brain game about IoT sensors fun. Which is challenging.

The main aim is sustainability as it relates to built environments. We want to build this out and create more of this world and other 'Planet A districts' so we'd love respectful and constructive feedback and ideas.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to have the game in early access for 3 months and we will tweak etc as we go.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The current version of the game will not have any major changes made before full release, except that we intend to tweak and optimise. We may be adding a multiplayer events mode, based on the status of our Networked Game Object cloud server systems at the end of the early access period - and our confidence level about governance of multiplayer mode access.

As of today, you are flown-in by drone, can then explore and walk around this part of MIND, and can discover the 2x portals.
One goes to Waste Ninja which is a fun, memorable game that teaches the User how to sort waste into the 4x categories that anyone who lives or works in MIND is required-to. Good waste management significantly reduces carbon impacts.

The other portal leads to 'Podium Sensorium'. Taking the time to learn about IoT sensors at the beginning, then exploring the building, players can then press the 'START' button in the foyer, whereby they are closed off into a 'Controls Room'. The Player can then choose the amount of IoT sensors they think may be required per-zone and 'RUN SIM' to see how they go. The players see the non-player-characters acting a bit crazy, and can tap on the Zones that are marked incorrect above the dollshouse version. Little info panels provide hints and learnings. The player can then 'TRY AGAIN' until they get it right. The player has 30 mins to get it right. And they are penalised with 'Carbon Penalties' (5 penalties) per wrong zone. Run out of time or accrue 200 penalties and your game is over. Get them all right with time on the clock and your penalties X time taken is your score. The lower the better - and you might get on the global leaderboard.

NB - the Player Profile is yet to be Live and the Collections area is the same. These will be Live before we come out of Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Most aspects are full functional right now - with just a couple of peripheral things 'coming soon' (and marked as such), per the previous section: Player Profile and Collections.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“It will always be free. We're here to educate about carbon impacts and climate change - not getting into the commercial games-biz:)”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will be doing sessions on Twitch and other streaming platforms to get the community involved and will be setting up a DISCORD shortly.”

About This Game

Welcome, to Planet A.

Planet A is a ‘purposeful Metaverse’ which is focused on creating deeper knowledge, enjoyment and experience of the landmark real-world places Lendlease Podium is entrusted to create, and curate.

Inside Planet A, anyone can virtually play, orientate and get-to-know quasi-physical places - and each other when multiplayer mode is initiated [coming mid-2022], before or after the real-world version has been constructed.

Planet A is a mirror-world, a living city that reflects the realities and impacts of climate change that we face worldwide - most especially in our urban environments. Carbon Calculator data is your window into this. Inside this ‘Metaverse’, we educate through gamification day one, and will collaborate as the platform evolves, as players learn-about the most sustainable solutions to the greatest challenges humankind faces, today.

We invite you to bring your energy, drive and the passion to embrace sustainability and make a difference.

To begin, fly-into our first Planet A project: The Milano Innovation District (MIND) where you will meet your Planet A Chaperone.

Formerly the site of the 2015 World Expo, your task is to play games that teach sustainability concepts such as waste management and IoT, battle the scoreboard and acquire all the skills and knowledge that are needed to plan and manifest a net-zero urban-regeneration project, like a ‘Lendlease Podium Pro’.

And your rewards won’t just be virtual. Online Planet-A Scoreboard leaders will literally make their mark on MIND, being projected and celebrated in-and-on the real-world site. Plus….. from time to time, you never know what your game-points might be 'unlock' - in the real-world….

Join us on a journey into Planet A. Join our initiative to virtually + physically build a world that gives more than it takes.

And - take your pick of experiencing in PC or in tethered VR.
