What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Our goal is to make the game as easy to learn and enjoyable as possible. Nemesis game mechanics allow players to perform truly crazy and cool scenarios. The current shape of the game is already intuitive and clearly shows all possibilities, but there is always room for improvements. We believe that your voice can help us improve the experience even further before the Full Version Launch!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The current plans assume the full release by the end of Q3 this year. It will also depend on the player's comments, needs, and activity - Our independence and flexible work style allow us to suit the situation fast. Nemesis has a great potential for expansions and new game modes, and we would love to give them to players.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our list of features we would like to add is long - but we want to see your opinions before making our next move. Certain things that will be definitely added to the full version are improvements in graphics, animations, UI, optimization, and sounds based on feedback from players. Serious tutorial with a story that will help new players learn game mechanics in a more satisfying way. Let's make the game better together!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Nemesis Lockdown allows players to play SOLO or make MULTIPLAYER scenarios. Depending on actions during the game - each session's length and run will be different. The current state contains a Full Gameplay Mechanics based on Nemesis Lockdown Board Game set in a cinematic and immersive setting.

Play as one of 5 different survivors, and reach unique Objectives drawn at the very beginning of each game. Each character has its own strengths and Action Deck. Spend your Action Cards to make moves in your turn. Search and collect items, and use special functions of different rooms to change game conditions. Try to survive dangerous fights with evolving Intruders. Be a teammate or a traitor to other players in the session. Items, rooms on the map, and event cards are randomly drawn at the start and during the game from extensive card decks.

Each session is additionally varied in special Event Phases which can change the in-game situations drastically. All those possibilities and moves you perform make all scenarios will look different and unique. Nemesis gameplay is a well-tested formula that truly works and gives breathtaking cinematic moments. The game includes a built-in voice chat.

In the Early Version, you might encounter occasional glitches, unpolished animations, and other small bugs. The current version should be stable and free of critical errors. It also lacks a proper tutorial with a story and we're still working on UI and UX. Upgraded graphics and better game optimization will come with the Full Version.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Early Access price is 25% lower than the Full Release price. Nemesis gameplay gives dozens of unique hours of fun and in our opinion, it is reasonable to raise the price once the game reaches our expected level of polish. Our community is incredibly important to us, and we value every one of you who opts to join Early Access and support the game at this stage!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is crucial in the current state and further shape of the game - All kinds of suggestions might be helpful but the most important areas we would like to hear players' voices are the UI and UX of the game. We'll be collecting, reading, and analyzing all comments you provide to be sure that we are in the right direction.

Early Access build has a specially prepared in-game "Feedback Survey" and a "Quick Report" button which players can use to send us direct feedback or details about encountered bugs during active game sessions. We hope that those solutions will help our community share their thought about the game. Our official Nemesis Lockdown Discord server is also a great place to find other players or share suggestions or game problems.”

About This Game

Nemesis is among the most successful board games of recent years, currently ranked 17th in the BGG All-time rank with over 20k ratings. It was created as a tribute to classic sci-fi horror movies. Main goal was to create a great horror experience that will write a unique cinematic story with every game. Such a story that you will want to discuss with your friends for some time after the game!

Now, Nemesis Lockdown is going digital! This is a board game recreated in the digital world and since the game is very special to us we wanted the experience to be stellar. This game is targeted at both: Fans of Nemesis, who now will be able to play with their friends online, and new players who may not be too familiar with board games but still want a great sci-fi adventure!

FEATURES:

- Well tested gameplay -
Nemesis Board Game was in a very long development, literally thousands of blind test plays until we got a formula that works. Now – after hundreds of thousands of players around the world played and enjoyed the game – core gameplay of Nemesis Lockdown is very well tested and proven to provide not only great fun (especially when you die), but also breathtaking cinematic moments.

- Cinematic, turn-based horror sci-fi experience -
In Nemesis you do not hunt aliens, this is not a shooter. Weapons are mostly used for defense. Instead, you try to do everything you can to complete your objective and run from the base as far as you can. The presence of other life forms can make this a bit tough.

- Secret goals and hidden traitors -
One of the key mechanics in Nemesis is hidden objectives. Trust no-one, as some of the players you play with might want to kill you or have drastically different ideas about what to do with the current situation. But you NEED to cooperate to survive, so there is a fine line you need to keep with every decision.

- Beautiful fully 3D environment -
We have invested a lot into making sure the game will look right in this new medium. You can expect great graphics, animations, and models to help immerse yourself in the world of Nemesis.

- Solo and multiplayer modes -
You can play the game by yourself or enjoy it with your friends. Thanks to high replayability you will be able to play the game for dozens of hours and every game will be different.

- Refined UX and calculations -
We have added a lot of extra work to create a seamless User Experience flow, that would decrease down-time and make all the calculations in the background while showing players all the important information as clearly as possible.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Although Nemesis gameplay relies on avoiding confrontations with intruders, still it's inevitable and can be deadly. Prepare yourself for heavy wounds and puddles of blood. You'll never stay unarmed - fight with the threat using knives, guns, and fire. Their terrifying bodies are not indestructible. In the struggle for survival, even other crew members can turn out as traitors - watch your back and carefully analyze their moves.
