Why Early Access?

“I've been developing Thunder Helix for many years and publicly sharing progress via Twitter since the very beginning. The gameplay is implemented to a state where I'm satisfied to share it and the remaining work is primarily to add extra content. I've decided to launch into Early Access to allow people to play the game before it's finished and to guide the development further based on the preferences of the players.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The current plan is to be in Early Access for approximately 6 - 12 months. This might increase in order to implement fixes and new features, based on community feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I've published a roadmap on the Discussion page outlining my plans for the Early Access period.
In summary: I plan to add more campaigns and scenario missions to the full game, and where possible, incorporate new features based on community feedback. I also plan to create a PDF manual.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game currently has the core gameplay features implemented, 3 helicopters to choose from and a variety of enemy vehicles to destroy. Currently the first campaign mission and 1 randomised scenario mission is available.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will not change when we leave early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'll be looking to the Steam community forum to listen and chat about requests and implement features that will improve the game, both in terms of content variety but also things that will polish the gameplay and make it accessible to a more casual audience.”
