Why Early Access?

“We want to build Atomic Picnic together with the people playing it. Early Access gives us room to try new ideas, hear what players think, and improve the game based on that feedback before release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We’re targeting release in Q1 2027.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The game will have new upgrades, enemies, maps, and ways to play. Some of these changes will affect how you play a run and build your character, rather than just adding more content.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Since launching in November 2024, we’ve released 30+ updates, including four major updates. The latest added 12 new enemies to the game.

Right now, you can play through some areas, try different builds, and take your Picnics in all kinds of unexpected directions. We’re still working on the visuals, UI, and audio, and we’ll keep adding new content throughout Early Access.

We’ll also keep sharing early versions of new content so we can hear what you think before it’s finished. For the rest of development, we’re focusing on making the core gameplay better and adding new things to discover when the game releases.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. Atomic Picnic is available at a lower price during Early Access. The price will increase when Early Access ends.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Atomic Lab is open for anyone to register. We select players with different backgrounds and play styles to test upcoming content before it reaches the public build. Their feedback helps us find problems, see how new content plays for different people, and figure out what needs to change before an update goes live.
