Why Early Access?

“Atomic Picnic has been developed since its very early days with feedback from our community. We have a very open and receptive team that believes the best version of the game can only be achieved by gathering suggestions and reports, listening to the players, and constantly improving every aspect of the game with your feedback in mind.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our current estimation is at least through the end of 2025. But since we want to make Atomic Picnic the best game we can, we don't have a specific end date planned right now.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the full version of the game, we plan to include more characters, enemies, maps, and new gameplay features that will drastically improve how each run in Atomic Picnic plays.

During Early Access, players can expect Major updates filled with new content at a certain cadence, but we will also strive to release minor patches and hotfixes to more pervasive or hot issues that might arise during this heavy development phase of the game.

All players can refer to our Roadmap to see our short and medium plans for the game are!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Atomic Picnic has been in development for two and a half years, and we've been testing it heavily with our community. That said, the visuals, UI, audio, and other parts of the game are still a work in progress and that we want to improve.

The game is filled with content, and we've already seen some of our Community members spend a ton of time running Picnics and trying out different builds. You can expect that to increase as we develop and release more updates!

You can also expect us to release some cool content for the community to try that might not be 100% ready yet because we want to know what YOU think. This way, we can work with the community and improve the game faster and in a fun and open way!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, during Early Access players will be able to purchase Atomic Picnic at a discounted rate, after launch the game will have its retail price increased.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have already been involving our Community in the development process, we did a lot of Open Playtest sessions with our community for them to try out specific versions of the game and give us feedback. We also have a special Community task force called "Atomic Labs" where certain members of our Discord Community can get access to super hot and fresh content, and they can give us feedback and help us improve the game in an even earlier stage than what the Early Access players get to play!

We also monitor all our Social Media, Steam Forum, and Discord Community for comments and feedback; in the game, there's even a specific button to send your feedback to the team! Also, each and every Discord member can reach out to our development team directly and ask us questions at any time!

We also release videos showcasing improvements and community discussion, and we discuss some of the most pressing points that the community puts forward!”
