«Judging by my steady progress in the game’s development over the last few months, I would approximate around one year minimum. This may be shortened if I am able to bring people onboard to expedite things, but even with the addition of their help, it would be a small team. So with that said, Summer-Fall 2023 would be a realistic approximation.»

«With Early Access, I will begin with focusing on the core and the major elements of the game. I will ensure that all the systems I envision will work well together, and that - above all else - they’re fun to interact with.

As I go through the development process, elements of the game during the Early Access period may organically and visibly change to those in the Full version. Examples of these changes might include final user interface artwork, 3D assets in the world, and level designs. I will remain responsive to the community’s help in identifying new potential improvements and fixes, implement new features and changes to the gameplay, and add new content they may wish to see.»

Hva er nåværende tilstand for versjonen i tidlig tilgang?

«The released Early Access version will include a building game-mode focused on surviving the seasons, outlasting enemy attacks, and growing your town. This mode has been designed to be re-playable, with differing starting conditions and customisation options that will affect the outcome of your town and population expansion.»

«The price of Little Islanders during the Early Access period will be lower than that of the full release. The lower price will not only reward the early supporters, but will also incentivize more people to join in on the developmental stages of the game. More feedback means a greater chance of improvement, desirability, and marketability. When the game is completed and fully released I do expect to increase the price.»

Hvordan planlegger dere å involvere samfunnet i utviklingsprosessen?

«I plan to involve the Community by primarily utilizing the Steam forums. In these forums I will encourage discussions, and then work to implement the feedback from those discussions. I have always felt great satisfaction in my previous games when I improve or add features based on individual recommendations, so it is something I place a great amount of importance in. I will also provide other methods of direct communication; such as Twitter and other social media platforms.

Additionally, I would like to build a longer-term community revolving around the unique take on the “god game” genre. It is a niche, strategy subgenre that I greatly enjoy and have spent countless hours playing in my childhood. From the Populous games on the original PlayStation to Black and White 2 on PC, I have a lot of fond memories.

I would be excited to hear what feedback players may have in regards to my game, and believe that with a combined effort between developer and player, Little Islanders will become a successful addition to this niche category.»
