The Signal is a survival crafter like no other. Your desperate search to find a missing loved one has crash-landed you on a planet. You learn this planet has made false promises to many that have come here before you, resulting in indefinite entrapment and a life of servitude -- including yours. Explore an elaborate, everchanging world that reacts to your progression and choices. Scavenge, build, extract and survive your way through a complex, interconnected biome system as you reveal the true intentions of this sentient planet -- and why it has brought you here.

SURVIVE AND EXPLORE

To survive and explore this strange planet, you’ll need to scavenge resources, craft useful items and upgrade your gear. Adapting to various environments requires the proper loadout, so prepare yourself as you investigate the strange ruins and crash sites scattered across the planet. Could there be other survivors here? Survival-craft your way to safety, as you learn about new technologies and resources. 

INVENT AND BUILD

Necessity is the mother of invention - words that have driven humanity forward throughout time. While player progression is driven by exploration – your creativity and ingenuity as an inventor will unlock upgrades and more complex fragments for building and crafting your creations. Manage and maintain your resources and power networks as you build larger and more meaningful infrastructure projects.

EXTRACT AND TRANSFORM

Uncover clues about the powerful relationship between the planet and the forces that drive it. Relics with unusual properties will need to be found and returned to their original locations, but restoring balance to this planet is a treacherous task. Every ancient relic you discover causes an unpredictable transformation to the planet’s surface world. Adapt to your surroundings to safely extract the resources and items you need.

CUSTOM VEHICLES

You must traverse and plan your travels across multiple biome types, ranging from tranquil glades and rolling hills, to hot lava deserts and frigid tundra. Physics and environmental properties all play a role as you fabricate customized vehicles using our in-game vehicle creation workshop.

POWER MANAGEMENT

Unlock new technologies to build heavy machinery and automated processors that make resource gathering easier. But machines need power! Manage energy storage and generation to keep everything up and running. Enjoy sandbox-style gameplay or focus on the campaign… just remember to keep the lights on. 

UNRAVEL THE MYSTERY

Can you uncover the unknown forces that power the planet? Will you escape from its clutches? Why did it draw you here in the first place? The closer you get to solving the mystery, the more unpredictable this planet – and the signal source you are chasing in pursuit of your lost brother – becomes. 

ABOUT GOOSE BYTE

We’re a small team that’s committed to creating worlds and memorable experiences for players. Our studio was founded in Montreal, Canada in September 2021 and became fully independent in July 2023. The Signal is the first game we are making together as a team and we look forward to sharing this sci-fi journey with you.
