What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are releasing this game as Early Access as we will continue to uncover more games in the anthology. Rather than just release each game as individual titles, we thought it would be way cooler if you just got access to everything.

Over the course of the 'development' we will continue extracting and unearthing the games contained within this anthology all whilst working with the players and Steam community to find out more. Whether it's asking for feedback, improving menu elements, gathering suggestions for new games and everything else besides - we want to work with the Steam community to uncover what this collection could truly be and we feel Early Access is the best fit for this.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to update this game regularly with what has been extracted from the hard drive and this is why we feel that Early Access is more suited to this title.

It's not a full game but it's not a demo ... it's something in between. We have planned for the first 12 months of this project and will then review where we stand. If the community feels that this is ready for a full release we will take their advice and push forward. This means that our current plan is to come out of early access within 12 months however should the community give us fantastic ideas, this might take a little longer.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The initial version of this project will feature the mini games we have described. We plan to update this project regularly with what we extract. This could be new mini games, video files, audio files and more.

Our goal is to create a meaningful experience that blends gaming and investigation in a new way that tells a story that will uncovered by the Steam community as development continues.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At launch, this project will have the following games ...

Red Riding Hood

You take the role as Red Riding Hood on her way to grandma's house. Collect the items and get inside before the wolf hunts you down.

Hansel & Gretel

This mini game follows a similar mechanic to Red Riding Hood but you have two lives and the Witch can move quicker, see further and hunt you easily.

Mr Gnome Goes Skating

A departure from the horror themed games we've found so far. Mr. Gnome can't stop and it's up to you to control him to reach and save the animals.

Jack and the Beanstalk

A jumping game which gets progressively more and more difficult.

Door

We have absolutely no idea what this game is, we've knocked on the door and tried to doorknob but nothing seems to happen ...

It seems that completing these games opens up new folders with images, but we daren't look ... yet.

At launch this project will have these mini games and each month or so we plan to add more to ensure that the story continues moving forward. All Steam community members will be told about the updates and encouraged to find the hidden evidence to uncover the story more and more as time progresses.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No, the price will always be this forever.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“For players that want to enjoy the story, we will be actively engaging with the Steam community to offer help, hints and tips on what might be hidden.

However, we will also be looking to hear from the community about what features they would like to see included, their ideas for the story and their theories as to what is actually happening. This isn't a one-way game and we very much look forward to sharing this journey with the Steam community.”

About This Game

In early 2023, whilst walking our dogs, we found an internal 3.5" Hard Drive partially uncovered. After cleaning it up as best we can and plugging it in we found an almost entirely custom operating system with what look to be horror mini games. It was only when we started completing these games did we see new options appear and we began to get a little concerned. Reporting it to the authorities has yielded no results and so we're turning to you to help us uncover what on earth this is ...

Be warned, however, for these games may seem ordinary on the surface, but they hold a grip on your imagination. We're asking you to work with us to extract the full contents of the hard drive ...

So far we have extracted four games from the contents of the drive and as we complete them we've noticed other options appearing quickly and then disappearing before we get a chance to do anything else...

What looks to be a stalker game based on the Red Riding Hood story, you're tasked with finding a few items whilst the Wolf is stalking around the map. Whoever made this must have some rudimentary understanding of procedural generation as the map is different every time. We've also noticed the numbers that appear on the forest floor too but as yet, we have no idea how to use them.

Hansel we think is an upgrade to Red Riding Hood and works in two stages. First off, you're Hansel and you're tasked with finding the witches house. Then you become Gretel in order to rescue your brother. All the time, the Witch is teleporting around the map to find you. Again, we've spotted some unusual glitches during this game and again haven't found a use for them.

Mr Gnome goes Skating is probably the weirdest one out of the bunch. The game is, on first impressions, very simple but gradually becomes more and more complex and you're tasked with saving the animals. The glitches and out of bounds errors we've seen here tell us that there's something else going on, but again we need your help in finding this stuff out.

This is where we need your help ... as we have played through these games we've noticed new menu options appearing that seem to disappear before we're able to extract them. Will you help us uncover what on earth we've found ... as we have a feeling it's going to be a wild ride.
