What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

Farlife has a narrative driven prologue section of the game, which sets the tone for the type of game Farlife will become. This feels like an epic intro to the game and opens the game up to more potential stories and missions in the future. We have built more expansive content and now the game has multiple regions and dungeons to explore and fight your way through.

We want to get involved with a community and build the game together exploring new ideas and adventures in this game's lore and universe. The plan is create a game all about discovering life beyond the stars!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Early access for Farlife will last around 12-24 months. Full access expected in 2023.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version of Farlife we plan to add features including: multiple levels and replayable experiences e.g. arenas, races, etc. space combat, Survival mechanics, more upgrade options for the characters and weapons, along with an online co-op companion feature. We also want to expand upon the base game's established lore and continue it's stories that started in the beginning of early access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of Farlife has 8 fully playable levels (the Tutorial, an open world asteroid level, a Slugnoid hub space for the player to trade, a procedural level set in another dimension with a roguelike experience, with a small asteroid to navigate to the other dimension, a new dungeon set on a seeder ship, a robot war factory with a wave based HORDE mode, and an early stage survival level on an asteroid called Crag-7) the game has over 15+ unique and upgradable weapons. 10 types of resources to collect and use to upgrade loot. Various Robot enemy types. There are 10 missions so far, excluding the procedural level, the game offers a short campaign questline, with 2 linked side missions, and hidden side treasures to discover.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Farlife is available at a reasonable price for early access and the price will not change when the game leaves early access. We plan to release additional expansive DLC content over time after the game's full game release that players can pick and choose from to expand their experience further. We do not plan to have any special editions or a season pass going forward.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will be engaging with consumers via discord and social media. We will be releasing a road map of content that will be added for free in updates or paid expansions and DLC. We want the community to engage with us on what content we prioritise in our development.”
