Why Early Access?

“I am making Swords and Their Boy mostly alone, and would like to have a feedback from real players before making final decisions about some mechanics and features of the game before finalizing it in level design and adding more content. Being along means I'm pretty flexible with my development process and can afford to change a lot of things relatively easy. This doesn't mean I would add to the game anything players ask, but at least I'' listen to all the feedback and having external perspective should help me to make the game better. Also, EA is the best time to address localizations and bugfixes without it damaging the main development process.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I expect Swords and Their Boy to be in Early Access about 3-4 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Full game will feature more levels/arenas/biomes in rotation, more perks and enemies, as well as possible bugs fixed, existing mechanics improved and if I manage to find volunteers - localizations added”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At the start of Early Access Swords and Their boy will feature fully working combat system with about dozen types of enemies, at least 4 biomes and up to 10 perks effecting the gameplay styles. Meta-progression will be limited until I finalize all the ingredients.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Price will not change when we leave early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I hope there will be a lot of discussions at the forums from the active players where they would share their experience and suggestions, so I can listen to them, fix the problems and pick ideas aligned with my vision for the game. I also hope some of the players can help with translating the game to other languages besides English, Ukrainian and Russian.”

About This Game

You play as a Broken One - a boy who should be dead, but two AI swords keep his bones and flesh alive.

Together swords and their boy must cleanse all the livable zones on alien planet from dangerous monsters and robots and keep it's safe for the first colonists to arrive.

Two swords - two types of damage at your disposal, you can alternate different strikes as you wish.

Different creatures can react to electric and physical damage differently, so you need to learn how to deal with every enemy effectively.

Swords can offer different perks and you can combine them to find your own playstyle.
