What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I'm releasing Everlife in Early Access for a variety of reasons, but the most prominent reason would be community feedback on the game.

I feel community feedback will be important for the game's development. Is there a feature you don't like? Is the difficulty balance off? With early access, I'll be able to take care of it!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I would expect Everlife to be in early access until the completion of all 5 chapters. I would expect all 5 chapters to be done sometime in 2024, but this may be subject to change.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Everlife will have multiple different abilities to ward off enemies. You will get to experience more of these as each chapter gets released!

Everlife's full version is planned to have a grand total of 13 levels. Each level will be bigger and more difficult than the level that came before it, and each level will have a different environment and a different set of enemies.

Everlife's features are planned to be improved over the course of development. Additionally, Everlife's full version is planned to have the following features that the early access version doesn't currently have...

-Game Pad Support
-Custom Key binds
-Expanded Settings options
-Cloud Saves”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current early access version of Everlife contains the following...

-1 Level (Murky Mansion)
-1 Ability (The Stunner)
-A game Introduction Cutscene and 2 additional cutscenes
-A replay Mode that allows you to replay the first level without pressing "New Game"
-A mysterious sequence that involves getting a game over
-A ranking system that ranks you based on how fast you complete the level
-9 Original Music Tracks
-A saving and loading system
-A settings menu that allows you to adjust things like Video, Audio, Sensitivity, and other game elements

For details on planned features, see "How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?"”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The first chapter of Everlife will always remain free, however, all chapters afterwards will cost money.

Each chapter will likely be a little more expensive than the one before it, since not all chapters will have the same amount of content”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I intend to gather community feedback from Everlife's Alpha versions. I intend to gather feedback on the game's elements, such as difficulty balancing and game-pacing, and improve said elements accordingly.

However, I don't intend to take suggestions for the actual story or core game elements, for example, I won't accept a suggestion to have a resort level in the game (assuming there isn't one), since I already have the enemies and environments planned out. I also wouldn't take any ability suggestions, since I also have all of them planned out as well.”

Get running

You are never safe in the dimensions. Dash at high speeds to the star, or to safety. Outmaneuver the monsters and make split second decisions to stay in one piece

Use your abilities

You are equipped with a mysterious weapon in order to survive. The weapon has the power to use supernatural abilities. Use them to defend, deter, and escape danger. You'll start with only one ability, but you'll gain a new ability at the start of every level!
