What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Because I am currently only one person with limited resources and I love the idea of a game developed with the community not in secret from them.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“As long as it take for me to have a product that I am proud of and feels like a complete game. That could be a year it could be five.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“See the planned list of future content for an idea of what is to come. But know that there will definitely be more machines, metals, and mayhem.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The first few 'tiers' of progression (Copper and Iron) have been mostly implemented and the major bugs hunted and squished. All of the content features in the game description are available and implemented for you to play with. There is no end or winning as of yet but to get through all of the content and try everything should take the average player over 4 hours.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“It is planned that the price of the game will gradually increase as development continues and more features and content is added.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I need your feedback and ideas to make the game better and I will do the best I can to keep you updated on my progress and plans, because game development is a two way street of ideas. Alao check out the official subreddit r/EngineerAlphaGame and any feedback, questions, comments, or concerns can be sent directly to engineeralphagame@gmail.com”

About This Game

There’s a lot to be done and you have to do it alone. Assemblers, furnaces, and engines are your allies and the only way you can get it all done. Build monstrous and contrived contraptions that produce a starship load of parts. Fuel your machinations with wind, coal, steam and more as you harvest the resources of the land for your use.

There are many automated machines to build and connect in Engineer Alpha. Windmills, Constructors, Steam Engines and more all can be joined together so that can do your work for you. Buildings can be connected together in multiple ways including; rotational shafts for power, pipes to transfer fluids, and conveyors and tubes moving Items. As Constructors craft one kind item into another the factory gets more complex with every step and it never stops growing.

The planet you find yourself on is very resource rich however it is quite primordial. Change and shape the land in your own image in order to create a world of your own. The entire world is editable and can be changed to your heart’s desire. Whether you want to build a humble shack with a massive basement or a warehouse size factory you can do it.

Everyone needs to eat and engineers are certainly no exception. Grow and harvest your own food by hand or with automated farms.

Enemies and combat are planned for a future update to enhance the survival experience.
