What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“This game is a passion project that I developed solely during my free time. After the initial launch in 2021 and gathering early feedback, I made the difficult decision to pause public updates. During my break, I followed the input from the VR community and saw an opportunity to bring the game back stronger than before. Early Access is my way of inviting the community to join me in the development process. Your feedback on everything from weapon balance to enemy design and new features is absolutely critical. You are not just buying an early version of a game; you are actively helping me build it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Episode 1 will remain in Early Access only until it is fully stable and polished based on player feedback from this relaunch. My focus has shifted from adhering to a rigid, ambitious timeline to embracing a more sustainable, hobbyist development pace. The goal is to bring Episode 1 to a full 1.0 release before shifting development focus entirely to future episodes in the series.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The 1.0 launch will mark the point where Episode 1 is considered a complete, standalone chapter. The full version will feature core mechanics that have been polished and balanced based on community feedback gathered during this final phase of Early Access. The core gameplay of Episode 1 is established and will not undergo drastic changes.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“This relaunched version of Apocalyptic Adventure: Episode 1 is a complete and fully playable experience from start to finish. It includes the full gameplay loop of scavenging, crafting, and defending. ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will remain low to encourage as many players as possible to join me on this journey. Upon the full 1.0 release out of Early Access, the price may increase.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Your feedback is my most valuable resource. By playing Episode 1, you're not just buying a game; you're casting a vote for the future of the series. Join the community, share your experiences, and help me shape what comes next. Thank you for your support and understanding.”

About This Game

An exterior view of a rustic facility built into a rocky hillside under an orange sky. A wooden fence is in the foreground, with a metal elevator and small buildings further up the hill.

SURVIVE. STRATEGIZE. DEFEND.

The horde is coming. Your only hope is your wits, your hands, and the scrap you can find. Welcome to Apocalyptic Adventure, an intense VR Survival Tower Defense experience where every piece of junk matters and every second counts.

Forget abstract menus and god-like views; here, you are on the ground, desperately turning scavenged junk into an arsenal of deadly traps and fortifications. It's not just about surviving; it's about outsmarting the horde.

SCAVENGE & CRAFT FOR YOUR LIFE

Ransack your environment for vital resources. A rusty can, a discarded battery, a broken tool; these are not trash, they are the building blocks of your survival. Immerse yourself in a hostile world where you must actively search for materials, then use what you find at your workbench to craft everything from simple barricades and traps to melee tools and weapons.

A first-person view shows a crafting table by a rocky river gorge. A glowing green outline highlights a rock and stick being combined to craft a Stone Hammer, with a blueprint displayed in the background.

BUILD YOUR DEFENSE

The enemy is relentless, but you can be clever. Don't just fight, outsmart. Analyze your surroundings and fortify your position. Board up defenses and lay a gauntlet of traps for the unsuspecting horde. Every decision and every nail can mean the difference between surviving and being overrun.

FIGHT WITH ANYTHING YOU CAN FIND

You are on the front lines. When your defenses fail and the horde breaks through, it's time to get your hands dirty. Use a mix of firearms, melee weapons, and crafted explosives to fight back directly, defending the fortifications you built with your own hands. With limited ammo, you'll learn that a well-placed trap is worth more than a dozen bullets.

A PASSION-DRIVEN VR EXPERIENCE

Developed by a solo creator, Apocalyptic Adventure: Episode 1 is built from the ground up for a comfortable and immersive room-scale VR experience. Featuring both teleportation and smooth motion support, this is the pilot episode of a planned series, now rebuilt and refined in Unreal Engine 5 with community feedback to provide a stronger foundation for the future.
