Why Early Access?

“First Dwarf is an idea that was born during the development of Driftland. We wanted to create something new, unique and fresh. This project is very close to our hearts and we deeply care about the universe whereas it takes place. Involving the community in Early Access is very important for us, as we want to make the game with the players. After the Playtests, we’ve become even more convinced that we want to co-create the game together with YOU and the rest of our awesome community. We’ve received a huge amount of great suggestions, which we have already implemented and will continue to implement in future versions.

We believe that Early Access is a powerful tool that allows the players to give us the invaluable feedback needed in the development of First Dwarf. We already have very pleasant experiences with making some of our other games available in Early Access - every single one of them always benefits from the honest communication between gamers and our team. It’s incredibly helpful and provides the best directions, changes and improvements, which leads to the outcome that all of us are happy with.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We’re aiming for approximately no more than 18 months before releasing the final version. Stated time we spend on updating First Dwarf may change according to the received feedback from the community. We’ll be implementing the changes needed for the full release of the game and leaving Early Access when both us and players will be content with the final look of our title.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Current version lacks all of the quests needed to complete the game, as well as more polished and tweaked co-op mode. Adding more islands and content, such as missions and their components, listening to the feedback and implementing it, so the story we introduce at the very beginning can be expanded and eventually be finished, is our main goal. Along the way, we are going to fix all the bugs found by both us and the gamers themselves to disqualify the possibility of any problems occuring during the final launch.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Early Access already provides the core mechanics, core coop systems, and interesting gameplay: exploring the world of floating islands, gathering resources, building colonies with various structures, experimenting with defense mechanisms, such as different turrets that help us with battling our enemies, not only in close combat and changing through characters, each of them having unique abilities and getting to know their stories. Some bugs may occur due to the continued development. To see all the game features, go to the 'About This Game' section.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price for Early Access is lowered in comparison to the Full Release. We’re taking replayability and all the additional content added during this period in account.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We’ve always been keen on receiving feedback from our community. We’ve already had two rounds of Playtests on Steam and we want to continue them. We asked about players' opinions and their voices were heard! All the new discussions and suggestions were deeply analyzed by our team and implemented, if deemed a benefit to the game as a whole. By working closely with our community on Discord, Steam and social media, we managed to heavily improve the game. And we’d love to continue to do so, the involvement of the players before the final launch is absolutely a must for us, we can’t wait to hear what you all will come up with while playing First Dwarf. We want to create an awesome game together with you!”

We’re planning to add smaller islands where you can discover special items. While it’s difficult to specify how many will be included, we aim for them to be an exciting part of the game.

Endless game stage

First Dwarf won’t end after you take care of all of the Taint! You’ll be able to continue to build, fight, and expand your settlements after completing the main quest line.

About This Game

First Dwarf is an immersive action RPG colony survival with base building and tower defense mechanics, which will test your survival and exploration skills in a fantasy open world, sprawling on islands floating in the sky.



Game features:

  • Control dwarf Tru, pilot the powerful mech and fly with Ragna the Dragon, each with their own skills to upgrade
  • Build, optimize and look after your colonies

  • Embark on an adventure alone or with a friend in co-op assist mode



Planet Driftland is no more. A mage war has shattered the globe into floating islands and turned the inhabitants into barbaric tribes. Amongst the desolation, the dwarves alone prevailed, but not for long. Resources are running short, and the once great civilization is breathing its final breaths. In a desperate attempt to secure the future, they send the First Dwarf in a mighty airship to the celestial islands in search of material to save the once powerful dwarven kingdom. Unfortunately, he went missing, failing his quest and disgracing his family.



Many years later, you take control of Tru, the new First Dwarf, and Ragna, a scholar dragon that aids the settler with her knowledge. You embark on a mission not only to find better lands for your Clan, but also to restore Tru’s father’s good name and carry on the legacy. Jump into the First Dwarf mech, powerful machine that will help you during this dangerous adventure.

Prepare the new land for your people by completing tasks such as clearing it from monsters, drying the soil, or curing the water sources. Increase respect amongst your folks through various challenges and bring in other Clan guilds. Fortify your colonies and expand them, using various structures and buildings. Plan the greatest strategy that works for you! Defend them not only from many types of enemies - from amphibiotic mutants to gigantic, acid-spitting monstrosities, but also natural disasters and unique weather events, such as harsh temperature, Taint rains and volcano eruptions. You’ll also encounter beautiful animals, some of them in need of your help. Will you stop by for a bit?



Explore uncharted floating islands, hiding the ancient secrets of Eskoim people, either with mech or Ragna the dragon and develop new gadgets, weapons and structures with Dwarf Tru. Get behind the wheel of your own airship for the fastest way to travel through colonies! Upgrade your armor and gain new skills! Feel its power and master the action-oriented combat system. Obtain cosmetic blueprints for your mech and ship, craft them and express your creativity by making a sigil for your own guild.
