Why Early Access?

“We are a small team, and SideQuest is a big game. We need your help in making sure every part of the experience is fun and balanced!

We plan on making heavy use of community feedback to deliver the most fun game we possibly can!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect SideQuest to be in early access for 12-24 months. However, we plan on providing consistent updates to the game over this time, so there will always be reasons to come back and keep playing!

This estimate is likely to change based on player feedback and development.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of the game we plan to offer a more balanced experience, as well as more content.

In particular, we plan on including 3 chapters comprising 30+ unique quests (and tons of non-unique quests), 4 dungeons with 12 nasty bosses to defeat and infinitely scaling content in the form of a mini-boss tower and a rogue-like mode.

We also plan to offer a public server so that users can play with eachother without having to be friends on Steam.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Initial release on early access will include:
  • 1 chapter
  • Single and peer 2 peer multiplayer game play
  • 5 playable characters
  • 20+ enemy types
  • 3 bosses
  • 3-5 biomes
  • 8 quests
  • 1 dungeon
  • A deep progression system of loot, upgrades, and customization
