What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

I want to make Infinite Mana the best it can be and being able to engage with the community is the first step to making that happen. The world of Arukea is massive and as a solo dev it's a large undertaking to make sure all the little pieces fit together and work smoothly. Bringing the community into the development process for feedback will allow the game to release at a stable state even quicker.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game will be in early access until 2024.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to contain:

  • 11 different chapters with about 3-8 hours of gameplay each depending on the chapter, as well as post-game content. The game will be around 60 hours of content.
  • 20 different Guises (Classes)
  • 9 playable characters with different personalities, motivations, and skills
  • 125+ quests of varying length
  • A wide variety of "glitches" to encounter in your travels
  • Collectibles and Steam Achievements
  • Revised art assets
  • Fully original soundtrack

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The early access version of Infinite Mana currently contains the first ten chapters of the game which are about 40-50 hours in length if you do everything. A new chapter is added about every month so there's always something to look forward to. The game is feature complete up to unreleased chapters and I don't expect much to change for existing chapters aside from fixes. What is playable has been heavily bug-tested, though that's not to say there aren't any bugs or that things won't be changed.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“It is likely that the price will increase after early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I would like to receive feedback from players on what they like and don't like, what may need more explanation, and how I can make the game better and more enjoyable! It's very important to me that people enjoy my game. I encourage bug reports and plan on adding anyone who finds a bug to the credits. You can join in on the discussion here on Steam, in our Discord server, or on Twitter.”

About This Game

Infinite Mana is a 2.5D RPG with an emphasis on narrative, lore, exploration, and glitch mechanics set in the immense magickal world of Arukea. It has a unique design that pays tribute to classic RPGs from the 8/16-bit eras through its pixel art style and subtle nods in gameplay, but with an emphasis on modern game design and colorful visuals. There are many features including a large world to explore, a plethora of mini-games, a crafting and gathering system, and character customization through a unique class system called Guises.

Through your travels you may notice glitches. Or not. This is totally normal. As the Wanderer, you may even discover a way to use these glitches to your advantage.

Follow an engaging story full of mystery, humor, and magick - immerse yourself in the encyclopedic lore of the magickal world of Arukea. Stray from the story to make your own adventure by helping people in need or to further your own goals, changing the course of events and how people treat you. But beware, you cannot please everyone.

Explore a large variety of biomes including (but not limited to) mysterious high-technology ruins, dangerous deserts, volatile jungles, a laboratory underneath the ocean, or atop a floating continent in the sky - meet the denizens of Arukea and undertake a large variety of quests and solve puzzles in its many dungeons.

Battle a host of deadly foes with a modernized old-school-like turn-based battle system where you can exploit enemy weaknesses, buff allies, and debuff enemies with menacing skills, powerful magick, and summoned creatures that help in battle.

Unlock 20 different classes by donning special Guises, each with their own unique mechanics both in and outside of battle, like the cunning Rogue who can steal from enemies as well as pick locks, find hidden treasure, and steal, to the shape-shifting Warden who can turn into animals at will to aid their party and discover hidden paths, or the Illustromancer who paints their art to life, and more!

Interact with your environment to bypass obstacles through the use of tools such as the hookshot to jump from one place to another, to magick that can freeze lakes and blow up rocks, to playing music to open hidden paths. Mine ore, pick herbs, chop down trees, poach monsters, and go fishing in order to craft your own items and equipment. Participate in rare monster hunts to obtain ingredients to create the most powerful gear.

Utilize the power of the Blight to glitch the game to your advantage. Use these glitch powers to mend the world or even break existing elements within the game Be careful, as this otherworldly power is not without its misfortune.

And much more, including a variety of mini-games, many different animals to tame and pet, undertake heists to steal ancient Relics, and build a Headquarters out of an ancient castle to call your own.

The world of Arukea is a diverse collection of the dreams of many different races, each fighting with magick and technology for their beliefs in an endless struggle for power. The Zircadian Empire scours the world for ancient Relics to fuel their technology-enhanced society, slowly taking control over the East. An ocean known as Elazul is covered with a mist, barring any crossing to the Far West for over a millennium. A mysterious Blight appears from the High North, consuming all as it slowly expands.

You take the role of the Wanderer, an amnesiac nobody on a journey to find answers and to recover your lost memories. You may in fact think of this as nothing more than a clean slate, and set out on your own adventures meeting new allies and traversing through treacherous dungeons in search of treasure or to aid or even hinder others in the world. Some choices you make in the game change how the game plays out. Be wary that fate lurks around every corner.
