Varför Early Access?

“Mapama Pirates is a passion project I’ve been developing solo for over 1.5 years. Early Access gives me the opportunity to grow this game together with the community. Your feedback helps me understand which features work well, what still needs polish, and what ideas might still be missing. The goal is to create a technically solid, deep, and living MMO experience — and the best way to do that is with your input.”

Ungefär hur länge kommer det här spelet att vara i Early Access?

“I plan to keep Mapama in Early Access for about one year. During this time, I’ll be adding new content, improving existing systems, and polishing the game based on community feedback. If it turns out that more time is needed to reach the desired quality, I’m open to extending the Early Access period.”

Hur är det tänkt att den fullständiga versionen ska skilja sig från versionen i Early Access?

“I plan for the full version to be more stable, polished, and expanded compared to the current Early Access build. Over time, and with feedback from players, I hope to add more depth and variety to the game experience.

Some additions I'm considering during development include:

• New ship classes and upgrade paths
  
• Additional professions and skills
  
• Expanded PvP and guild systems
  
• New regions and islands to explore
  
• Events, quests, and more lore
  
• Ongoing performance and balance improvements

My goal is to shape Mapama into a rich and immersive pirate world, but what the final version will include depends on how development progresses and which features resonate most with the community.”

Hur är det nuvarande läget i versionen med Early Access?

“The current Early Access version already includes:

• A large, explorable world with multiple ports
  
• Naval combat, resource gathering, trading, and crafting
  
• Initial ship upgrades and profession systems
  
• Core multiplayer features like PvP, party system, and guilds
  
• One "Boss Fight"
  
• A solid technical foundation to build upon

There’s plenty to do already, but Mapama is still a work in progress — bugs, balance tweaks, and missing content are to be expected.”

Kommer spelet att prissättas annorlunda under och efter Early Access?

“Yes, the price will increase slightly after Early Access. Early supporters will get the game at a lower price as a thank-you for jumping on board during development and helping shape the final product”

Hur planerar ni att involvera gemenskapen i er utvecklingsprocess?

“Community feedback is my main guiding light during development. I’ll be active in the Steam forums, on Discord, and through devlogs to gather suggestions, run polls, and discuss new features with players. Whether it’s new ideas, bug reports, or balance feedback — everything will be taken seriously and communicated transparently. If you want to be part of shaping the game, you’re more than welcome!”
