« Community feedback has been important to us from day one, and feedback from playtesters has been a major factor in driving development since we started testing in 2020. Now, Hammerheart has entered a stage at which the best way forwards is in the hands of players, with their experiences and opinions aiding our decisions as we prepare more content for the full release. »

« Hammerheart is expected to be in Early Access until roughly December 2022. »

« A run without dying in the full release version is planned to take about three times long as a run in Hammerheart's current state. Planned features include more weapons, companions and enemy types, utility items and implementation of armour, a more fleshed out narrative and more locations with visual and gameplay differences. HAMMERHEART

Punishing, strategic and with a heavy focus on authenticity, Hammerheart is a hardcore roguelike set in the viking age that combines directional medieval combat with party customization and strategy mechanics.

HARDCORE ELEMENTS

Death is forever. Should you die in battle, all of your loot and companions will be lost, and you'll start again at square one. Maps, encounters and loot are randomly generated, and mechanical variety in the weapons helps to ensure that the experience is different every time you play.

HISTORICAL AUTHENTICITY

It is the early 10th century. By this time, the Vikings have grown from small raiding parties to huge armies with the power to conquer and extort ransom from kingdoms. Hammerheart throws you into the life of an Anglo-Saxon commander tasked with leading a force into the chaos of battle against these foes. The characters, weapons and settings were crafted with an eye for historical accuracy much lacking in today's popular media.

COMMAND AND FIGHT

In Hammerheart, your life matters. You are an individual on the battlefield who can fight and die. Timing and precision are paramount to coming out of an engagement on top. However, you are not alone. Command and position your companions carefully, and fight alongside them to gain a strategic victory over your opponents. It is your responsibility to treat injuries and distribute equipment to give the members of your party the best chance of survival.
