Why Early Access?

“I want the game to be the best experience it can possibly be.

For that reason I've decided to give myself enough time to truly create the experience I want to portray. To tell the story that I want to tell with Operator8, I am going to need time to put everything together well. This means dividing the story into chapters and releasing them systematically over time.

By going this route I can ensure that each chapter receives the allotted amount of work, to ensure the quality that I want to achieve.

You all know that creating games takes time and incredible amounts of effort.

I am only one person and so I want to give myself the best shot at a successful full launch, and I believe that this is how I can do that.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I plan to have the game be in early access for at least one year. In that time I will develop and release two to three updates, that will make up new chapters. These chapters will also push up the overall price of the game, so it will be best to purchase early.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“At the launch of early access I plan to have the first two chapters of the game completed. This means having two fully featured chapters that have been thoroughly developed and tested that players can enjoy.

Naturally small patches and updates will add fixes and features to those first two chapters as the game progresses, but the game will be fully playable up to the end of the first chapter.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Right now the early access version has two finished levels that are fully playable.

The story elements as well as the tutorial are being added at the moment and these will give the game its overall direction. The tutorial does not count as a chapter.

Around 25 hours of play testing has also been completed, with another 25 to be done before launch. I plan to sniff out and fix any glaring issues before the early access launch.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the game will have two to three price increases over the span of early access, rising by a small amount with the release of each update.

It will be best to purchase early, as that would secure the cheapest price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan to have various opportunities to join my social media and discord server.

I also plan to host a few live streams and will generally engage with my community. I am always interested to find like minded gamers that could become consumers.

So far the feedback from my early community has been vital in making improvements and changes to the demo. I thank the community for its feedback and suggestions. It has already helped to improve the game.”

Because of the harsh winds, unpredictable temperatures and strong elements, a large scale assault is impossible, therefore you alone have been called in to bring a stop to this fierce attack.

Smash, shoot, decimate and destroy these alien foes as you rake up the riches with each kill to upgrade your arsenal and operator suit.
