Why Early Access?

“Early Access content has been a staple in making indie productions possible! The Forest of Love is no different, we wouldn't be where we are if we couldn't do Early Access and gain early support!

Ever since our vertical slice, we've released monthly builds to our crowd funders. It's fun and educational to document the game dev process, and our community loves seen the progress we make!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Great question. At this rate our main campaign will likely be finished before 2024 is over. But we have a ton of content planned for postgame.

It's hard to give a solid date, but the more support allows us to delegate and outsource work for faster production!”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Early Access currently has the introduction (Act 1), and a bit of plot development (Act 2). There's is a ton of content in those two acts, not to mention our "non-linear content" which is stuff that can happen at any time.

Act 3 and Act 4 is intended to ramp up the plot, and bring it to a fun conclusion.

Postgame (Act 5) is planned to be a fully non-linear experience, including crowdfunding content!

Basically the plan is for A LOT more content! More critters to meet. More places to explore. More juicy scenes to view. Etc etc! We'd also like to look at localization!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We've publicly released Act 2 a few months ago.
It's about 1-4 hours of game play if you are going straight through or taking your time!

It features 8 animated scenes, and about 30 Illustrations!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of this game will be the same Early Access and on release. It serves as a donation to our endeavor!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We've been working with our crowdfunders for the past few years! They've been crucial to our production, especially when it comes to bug testing and general feedback. We hope to bring that to the Steam community via forums and other avenues as well!”
