What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The goal for Junebug vs. Evil is to grow as much as possible, with new enemies, bosses, weapons, goals, combat items, special events, defenses, and more. As a solo developer, the best way that this can be achieved is through player feedback. I've made sure that the early access release has a solid, complete foundation of gameplay with the ability to become so much more.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“At least a year, given the pace of the current updates. To make the game as great as it can be, more features may be planned as player feedback is received, potentially extending the time frame.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The current version of the game is a light version of what the full version will be.

Planned Features

  • Way more weapons
  • New combat loot
  • More enemies and enemy variations
  • Different enemy themes inspired by classic horror movies
  • Randomly occurring horde events that change the way enemies spawn and behave
  • Boss fights
  • Map assets

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core gameplay has been finished, with different weapons, enemies, and other features left to be added. So far, there are five classes of enemies that spawn with several variations of each. My goal is to have more classes of enemies as well as more family themes such as cryptids and thriller families, in addition to the current undead family that exists in the game.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“There are no plans to raise the price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'm hoping to receive plenty of feedback and requested features to help grow the game. The community should feel encouraged to help shape the gameplay and the overall direction of future updates.”

About This Game

Junebug, a resourceful mountain man, has found himself under attack by the forces of evil. Equipped with a growing arsenal of weapons and supplies found around his cabin, he's ready to fight against evil, for as long as he can. The first night finds you almost unprepared and the longer you survive, the more you'll be equipped to destroy anything that lurks in the darkness.

Each Death Brings New Terror

The strange power that has cursed the land has also given you the power to come back from death, under certain circumstances. This gift comes at a cost though, as every death brings more enemies.

Fast-Paced Action

Find scrap, loot enemies, upgrade weapons, and fight until you can't. See how far you can survive!
